It didn't. As a matter of fact, it was one of the best rides in the park, with its innovative duel train design allowing for fast loading and dispatch. However, the trains stopped duelling after a person got hit by debris flying from another train. The accident was not the fault of the ride; a passenger had ignored safety instructions and had failed to remove objects from his pockets.

OK, I'll explain. Spoiler box below;

As you'll probably remember, Sandbar is a past Tom (from 8 Magic Nights, no less). The magic that all of them carry is part of the reason past instances of themselves are existing alongside them (sort of like the Blinovitch Limitation Effect). Once the effects wore off, Sandbar was warped back to his original time, and Ocellus changed back to Tom.

In case you're wondering, the past instances concept was Jimmy's idea.
