This story is a sequel to A Shattered Rainbow Rock
Weeks after the Battle Of The Bands, the Rainbooms are struggling to change themselves for the better, needless to say not everyone is open to it. But with the Friendship Games on their way, they hope to use that as a way to set themselves on the path to redemption. But when mysterious problems start to rise, everyone's looking at them to blame. Is it truly their fault, or is there something bigger happening behind the curtains?

Yep, the Rainbooms are going to be put through Hell. Not that it's well-earned mind you, but they're going to be in for a rough ride. Not bad of a start, and I have to say I'm curious as to where Twilight's going to diverge in this story.
And so it begins. The Rainbooms are really gonna be facing up to the consequences of their actions, all while our new antagonist comes to town.
I look forward to seeing where this story shall go in the days ahead...

If I remember correctly; Sunset Shimmer in this universe is rotten. Than that means that Cinch is a emotional Principal with a stone face expression?
Yeah, I'll admit this chapter is a bit rough, but I wouldn't worry too much on that, or how long it took you to get it out, given I usually take much longer to update my stories.

Glad to see a look into some happier content in the other half of this chapter. As weird as it feels to say that about Crystal Prep XD Still, glad to see that it is a really awesome place here. Loved the Shadowbolts' introductions here, they were really fun and added a lot of character to them!
Huh, so that's Crystal Prep huh? Interesting. And Dash... Definitely a lack of communication in that house, then again I'm not sure how I'd be able to tell my parents I was an absolute bitch to six girls for years. Would like to see more of her home life for sure, see how this develops.
I feel sorry for the Rainbooms and the students of CHS are falling to their level.
Even though Rainbow Dash was a villain from A Shattered Rainbow Rock, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
On a lighter note, it was a nice introduction to this universe version of the Shadow Bolts!

Rainbow and her fellows may have been awful, but at the same time, seeing people being awful to them just leaves an ugly taste in my mouth, you know? It just becomes a vicious cycle - people hurting people.

One of the ways that you know this really is an AU is when Crystal Prep is definitively an awesome high school to be at.
And also, yeah, I'd like to see some more stuff done with the Rainbooms and their home lives. Dash in particular is one subject that interests me, because we know from canon that her parents practically worship her. Depressingly, if that carries over to this universe, it'd explain a LOT about why there was so little done to discipline Dash.

This is why I love the Principals of this school. They actually sit up and do something when they need to, and they'te fairly friendly and understanding towards all their students, even said students weren't exactly the nicest of people.

Amen to that. It's really refreshing to see a principal in a high school story who's doing something to both discipline troublemakers AND also suggest a better, more constructive path to decency for them too.
...Also, can we talk a moment to regard the humor of the fact that in this AU, Celestia seems to be considered the "scary, strict" sister? That just amuses me considering how many takes have been done of canon Celestia's sense of humor and all.

Exactly. I thankfully don't have much experience with principals in real life so I can't tell if this story is wholly realistic in that regard but this is so refreshing.
Takes a minute to digest this, before bursting out laughing Yeah, considering canon Celestia is a bit of a prankster -Inviting Discord to the Grand Galloping Gala anyone- and that's been mutated into her being a troll and such, her being seen as the scary sister which usually goes to Luna in Equestria Girls stories is just a riot.
This was good reading. I really enjoy this take on Celestia here. And also, the fact that she got Rainbow to accept the idea of joining the Games by playing on her competitive ego. XD Good to know, that even in an alternate-universe, some things are still constant. Rainbow Dash can never turn down a challenge.
And also, it's nice to see something cute with this Pinkie Pie at the end. Yeah, the scene with her and Gummy is kinda bittersweet, but still, nice to see more and more of these looks into the home lives of the different Rainbooms. See more and more of them besides their earlier bully selves.

Even though she used to be a bully, I feel so sorry for Pinkie.
The school day is over, the majority of the student body was clearing out their stuff, getting ready to get out and go home. All except for five particular students, of course. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie – all of them weary, tired after another long day – reluctantly reported to detention. This was something that has varied over the weeks since sentencing. For the first few weeks it had been something simple like community service – namely, assisting in the repairs to damages done at school. Other days included picking up trash by the freeway, or planting new bushes and trees at the park; all done under police supervision.
Though the police supervision stung them hard. It sent the message, as much as everything else, to the Rainbooms, that they’re being treated like criminals. Like scum. The lowest of the lows.
The cops, CHS, and the students are all a**holes and the Rainbooms are in pain. Sorry but that's how I feel.

The wait was most definitely worth it. I got a kick out of the scene with Octavia and the others at the start... and as for that scene with Shining and Cadence... I feel sorry for those two. There's definitely something sad going on in their past, and whatever happened with Twilight.
Okay, now I'm really curious as to what happened between Cadence and Sci-Twi.
And it looks like Octavia has magnetic powers! Neat!
