This story is a sequel to Little Glimpses
Nine months have come and gone since Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash moved to Ponyville from their home in Canterlot. Nine months since Princess Celestia revealed what she knew about the change in history reaching all the way back to the day of the sonic rainboom. Nine months of peace and happiness.
A peace and happiness that is brought to an end by the return of an ancient enemy, one thought to have been gone forever. This event sparks a choice, and the repercussions will lead Rainbow Dash and her friends down a dangerous road. A series of events shall soon play out that will lead to the already precarious balance of this new timeline being undone. When all is said and done, Rainbow, Twilight and their new friends will learn for themselves the true dangers of foreknowledge...

Hello there. Thanks very much for getting the second story in your series started. I really appreciate you going to the effort. So, by all appearances, you're jumping straight to season two (purely an observation; nothing more) . At any rate, excellent job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up.
And, yeah, the familiar white tendril flash gives me a bad feeling (albeit a "bad feeling" that's good by story-telling standards). And I have to admit that I am definitely going to be curious to see what sort of tricks Discord comes up with in THIS timeline to catch the Element Bearers by surprise. After all, Nightmare Moon altered things SLIGHTLY by grabbing Rainbow in the last story. It stands to reason that Discord, who is one of the few characters where full fourth wall awareness is actually completely justified (given both his personality AND his powers), would probably have all sorts of extra traps and tricks to make the adventure MUCH more challenging than in canon .
Okay, sorry about that. Just got a bit over-excited.
All in all, I'll very certainly be looking forward to more of this, but will also respect that fact that I might need to be patient.

Well, thanks very much for having the second chapter up already. :-D And, yeah, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are, of course, quite well done. I particularly liked Rainbow's flash while (trying to) deal with the clouds and Twilight sharing Spike's bad feeling.
Here's a possible piece of dialogue for later if you like it enough:
Rainbow: What about that failsafe spell you were working on?
Twilight: It failed.
Rainbow: Failed? Come on, I know you said the spell wouldn't work if the cause of the problem was more powerful than the one casting the failsafe, but you are the most powerful unicorn in Equestria. Proven fact, NOT idle boast.
Twilight: Perhaps, but I am NOT invincible. And there are plenty of other beings out there more powerful than myself. The princesses themselves just being the most benign examples.
Rainbow: I know mom can be a bit of a troll -
Twilight: Don't worry. I DO NOT think it's her. Nor do I think it's Luna. I DID say they were the MOST BENIGN examples.
Rainbow: Then who or what -
Twilight: Good question, Rainbow. I just wish I had a good answer.

Anyway, going by the way your arcs were in the last story, I'm going to guess that the Discord arc is going to be AT LEAST eight chapters (possibly more), with the majority of the Season Two stuff being four and the "Royal Wedding" being, again, at least eight.
Of course, I will admit that I COULD be wrong and will apologize in advance if I am.
At any rate, I will most definitely be looking forward to more of this, but will also be quite willing to be patient.

Little Choices will only have Three plot arcs. Arc 2 will make up the vast majority of the story, probably clocking it at twenty more more chapters. We'll see.

Yes, the gala incident occured. The main points of difference was that Rainbow was, for the begining, at least, required to be by Princess Celestia's side. A little while into the party she then branched off and things played out as normal- though maybe with a touch more awkwardness from Soarin and the other Wonderbolts due to RDs Royalty status,

Knowing Discord, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the catalyst. In fact, I'd say that the altered timeline is rather "chaotic". Is it possible that in this timeline, it wasn't the CMC who helped release Discord, but the change in timeline itself? For that matter, would Discord know that the timeline is altered? (And would it be possible for Discord to get "little glimpses"?)
Also, I wasn't trying to predict what will be the catalyst. In fact, I don't expect that. I'm just saying that Discord's chaos would have the power to throw the timeline into...well...chaos.
