Blade Star

A fan of MLP since March 2013 and a die hard fan of Princess Luna.

Sequels2

T

When our protagonist awakens in the Everfree Forest, he is not alone. Transformed into a creature he once thought to be fictional, and accompanied by his close family he must find his way through this new land. Can he build a new life for them all in Equestria, and how will the ponies react to these strange creatures? Particularly when they find out about a certain TV show.

Comments and criticisms appreciated.

Knew it, I did. Turned him into a pony, you did.

Disappointed, I am, in this cliche.

G3 is not a horror:ajbemused: And everyone who says that has probaly never seen it

3635269 I thought G3 only existed in doll form. No cartoons were made.

It's G2 that ramped up the oddness and had the ponies doing a lot of "slice of life" stuff in the 80s.

So he doen't like being a human? :rainbowhuh:

3715524 It's not that he dislikes being human, it is that he is indifferent to being either human or pony. After all, has anything really changed for him since arriving in Equestria?

hummmm nice momentes with the doc on this chapter :heart::heart::fluttershysad::fluttercry:

so what happen in next chapter?

Another neat chapter dude. :pinkiehappy:

lol mmmmmm that was a nice chapter :heart::heart::heart::fluttershysad::fluttercry:

3635269 3637374 G3 was a cartoon, specifically a set of straight-to-VHS movies, and it wasn't a horror, unless you count G3.5 Newborn Cuties. That was HORRIBLE!:pinkiesick:

3726356 I do count the Newborn Cuties. :pinkiesick: I no longer fear Hell. :pinkiecrazy: As it stands, you are right, it wasn't all bad. I was merely alluding to the general dislike of that particular period prior to G4.

I like your style.

The thing about the CMC being Pinkie's powder monkeys... I can easily imagine them trying to get a cutie mark in 'powdering monkeys'.:rainbowlaugh:

It even faster than Dashie

"It's"

Huh. Perhaps I have been playing too much Fallout: New Vegas. Because when I saw your author's note about "powder monkeys", I immediately thought "powder ganger".

3730967 Powder monkeys is actually the term used on warships in the 1800's for children who would carry gunpowder for the cannons. That's where I got that from.

I really like this story:pinkiehappy:

3737637 Thank you. Any suggestions though?

Sorry I don't have any:ajsleepy:

3737652 No worries. :trollestia: The positive comments encourage me just as much. Sometimes I let that mocking sliver of red dislikes get to me a bit. I'm pretty certain nine are just because of the setting. One, I know was actually a valid point from Jacob Hoove which I take on board.

3737687 Thank you mein Herr. I am always in need of someone to point out my foolish errors in grammar.

AWESOME!!!! but , i know i'll sound stupid if i ask, but cna flutterbat be mentioned atleast?

3737907 Possibly, but I don't want to go into specifics on season 4 in case of epic bombshells.

3738704 i see ^^- she's just become my fav character since that episode. sorry

Hai-kudos:

Fantastic story

Please update when you can!!
^.^

Good story so far, sometimes the flow seems a little off in places but all together good job :scootangel:

can't wait what happen next chapter

3740099 Any place in particular? I'm always up for pointers. :ajsmug:

And that, is what makes humans so terrifying - especially to Equestria. We are ingenious, we manipulate and trick and outwit to levels equal to or even greater than Celestia.

3749886 Oh please, very few humans can hold a candle to the troll Celestia. :trollestia: I actually based that one something that happened when I was in in primary school. I actually felt sorry for the evil bugger.

3749899

Sure, we might be overmatched in terms of scale or resources, but we're innovative and resourceful. We'd do things she'd never even think of.

3749934 That's true. Equestrians do seem to innately be more kind hearted than humans. even Tia. She has yet to introduce the concept of 'Family camps' as North Korea has. :rainbowlaugh::pinkiesick:

3750148 :rainbowlaugh: I did consider expanding on the episode 'Hearts and Hooves Day'. Maybe the next time she gets a chapter.

dam that a good slice of life chapter :heart::heart::heart::fluttershysad::fluttercry::fluttercry:

One thing I had trouble pinning down, when you included the remark about a bilingual school becoming a minority-only school I couldn't figure out what kind of schools they'd be in the context of British education.

3750551 So who the bloody hell just disliked? It's really starting to annoy me.

I don't think you should ask me what's bad about it, because anyone here who's been in contact with me must know my standing ovation... or whatever you call it.

3760120

Behold, the land of haters and trolls. We don't go there.

3761966 Thanks for that last grammar assist. I seem to be getting a few dislikes and no one will tell me why. :flutterrage:

Besides, I've got 55 likes.

3760996 Agreed. Haters gonna hate. :ajsmug: Besides, I know you all love my fic. :trollestia:

This is the single most stu-ish thing I have ever or will ever write.

Before you abandon this story or plot to lynch me, let me explain. This chapter is a failsafe. If I ever get tempted to write a stu chapter, this will make it non-sensical in the context of the story. The key is Luna's parting advice. Blade Star cannot always be the hero, nor will he be. That is the sole reason for this chapter's existence.

Nothing wrong with dreaming; it wasn't entirely a nightmare. It works rather well in the context of the story, as well. Luna certainly seemed amused by the subject matter; nice to see the companionship between those two developing further, whatever form it might end up taking.

3767067 It wasn't so much the dream, but the way in which the character stood up to the Nightmare. In reality (sort of) Blade Star is not that brave, and I typically associate such bravery with stu characters.

But I'm glad it went over smoothly, and thanks for your input.

3769692
Bravery definitely doesn't take a Sue or Stu, and it seems like it would be entirely in-character for him to be brave.

Things that would make him a Stu in a scenario like that: choosing to be brave to the point of stupidity (direct confrontation as a solo unicorn where he knew it would take the six Elements, rather than seeking another solution); not actually being afraid (bravery is not the absence of fear, lack of fear in that scenario would be even more stupid); and worse yet actually succeeding in that scenario in place of the Elements.

Those would be Stu to the point of absurdity, but the bravery alone most definitely isn't, nor is the willingness to protect others. I have little doubt he'd protect his family and friends with his life. And I'd hope that Luna saw that, despite the unrealistic wish fulfilment of the nightmare scenario.
