you’re seriously lunatics that deserve to be labeled D-Class and exported for the foundations that keep us safe from the most dangerous paranormal artifacts, beings or phenomena with your bodies and souls. And I mean that literally.

And if you happen to come across a tall, lanky, man who's constantly pacing around in his cell and always crying in distress please look him in the eye and give him a smile.

Bravo good sir on this story. :pinkiehappy:

Looking forward to whatever comes, Firesight.

On a side note, man is it satisfying to read the bits where SJWs get bitchslapped...

then I consider that all the evidence I need that I’m doing the right thing, just for angering all the right individuals.

I'm reminded of an old saying: 'You can always judge a person by the quality of his (or her) enemies.'

Yeah, I may have treated that more like an ask blog, asking whatever came to mind, instead of stuff that's actually relevant. :twilightblush: :facehoof: Sorry :facehoof:

First fic you say?! Hard to believe it. So far I consider this fic one of the greatest in gentlemanverse on the writting style deparment

Btw where does that changeling come from?

8065534 He meant first on this site. He's been writing a loooong time.

8065733 Now it makes sense XD

8064567

Indeed we did, my friend. Thanks again for all your help, and look forward to prereading A Gentleman in Training for you!

8064760

Indeed it is! There were times I worried that it was overshadowing the story, but looking back now, I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for following and look forward to your continuing commentary on my other works!

8065067

Yep. That's exactly what I was thinking when I wrote it. In fact, that very quote is paraphrased just before the line you noted.

8065340

Not to worry. I still found ways to use most of it. An Ask Blog for Five Stars? That'd be interesting! Not enough readers to justify it, though.

8065534

As AJA said, my first fic on fimfiction, not my first fic overall. What was my first overall fic? This: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LDIV8QI

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Farewell 5SS.

Dear Five Stars,

I must admit that I have been very moved by your story and the stories of your friends and lovers. However, there is something that troubles me; a fact of life that can’t be ignored in the face of this new kind of relationship. That fact being that Humans and Ponies cannot produce offspring together.

Humanity doesn't need to worry about going extinct. We are simply too numerous and the vast majority of us have a tribal mentality which keeps us from going the way of the Fedora Man. About the only people in risk of dying out are white people and the Japanese, both due to death spiral birth-rates. Ponies on the other hand do face a long-term issue of becoming a multicultural hellhole if they let too many different types of people in. In pretty much every story in the Gentlemanverse humans that come in are Westerners or western-presenting like Harry, so everything is more or less okay in that regard. I don't think Celestia is stupid enough to let ISIS run all the little ponies over with a The Moving Van of Tolerance.

If there were some way to allow humans and ponies to breed it would be subject to a battery of moral quandaries. Is the offspring human or is it pony? Will there be psychological distress at being half-breed that's been observed in humans who cross-breed? We've all met someone like Barack Obama at least once in our lives who hated his white half and identified with his black half. It's practically cliche at this point. What heritable neurological disorders will the offspring inherit? The way the mind works across the whole of humanity isn't identical; that's a modern-day fairy tale. Look at how different Chinese turned out from, say, people in Western Europe.

Going forward with this universe is going to be a deep dive into science fiction.

Dear Five Stars.

I’ve found myself in a bit of a relationship crisis and after reading your articles, I feel like you’re the only one who can help me put things in perspective. I’m a human male who’s been married to a mare for the past two years. At first everything was fine, but lately I feel as though I’m being pushed aside.

This letter... chilled me to the core. This right here 100%. If any of you read A Gentleman's Price you know Richard had this on his mind, even if he didn't say it out loud. I've always been creeped out by the implications as a man for being in a herd; it's very easy to wind up being banished to the cuckshed, crying in your Mountain Dew while you fiddle with your strawberry-flavored vaporizer — wife getting pushed in by a stallion and filling her with his superior equine alpha-seed. I couldn't do it, even if was Roseluck and Applejack.

I don’t get it. Would someone please explain to me why Gentlemen willingly sign up or stay on for this now that it’s all out in the open and they know about the overwhelmingly negative reaction they’ll get for it? Don’t they see they’re being used as tools to impose patriarchal values on mare-oriented Equestrian society that will simply export their home world’s toxic masculinity to Tellus?

Okay that's enough greentexting. You get the point.

Oh yeah, one more thing about Hoofington: we also have a dragon security officer, and he knows Kung Fu. His words, not mine.

The Mushu Tap Shoe is nothing to be taken lightly!

Dear Five Stars: You talk all the time about why Gentlemen sign up. But what about the opposite question? Do Gentlemen ever leave the company and if so, why?

Yep. That's me. Feels good to see Richard finally came into his own as a character in my latest story. He was always meant to be someone's dad, but was never given the chance in my first two stories.

Dear Five Stars.

I have been curious on how much of not just ponies, but other races, from your world view have seen some of the media and entertainment (namely music and movies) from our world.

I personally enjoy sci-fi and action movies and, while they tend to be really bloody sometimes, I also think I should mention the slasher genre of horror movies.

You're in luck, Fallout Equestria will be an actual videogame in this universe. It'll be multi-player compatible too so you can swap companions with actual players.

I’ve also seen the Harry Potter movies, but in all honesty they’re not my favorite simply because the premise is a little ridiculous and the depiction of magic incorrect and even occasionally insulting.

Overall, there were too many distasteful characters and themes in them for me, ranging from Harry’s overly-evil aunt and uncle to a Ministry of Magic that seemed, well, rather despotic even before evil took it over, between illegal trials, draconian laws and enslaved/suppressed subjects, to say nothing of outright propaganda and a propensity for both punishment of the innocent and forcibly wiping ‘muggle’ memories—something that’s a felony in Equestria. The movies had great spectacle, and that the books they were based on have apparently sparked great interest in reading among children is a very good thing. But nevertheless, this is not a society that should be emulated, nor is that how magic works.

The story of Harry Potter is like a John Podesta fantasy, minus the child porn — a vast managerial elite that lords it over a hostile underclass who are mere props without character or significance. The plot wears thin over its long lifetime, and requires a number of improbable events to push the plot back on the rails. The pacing is, at times, dreadfully slow and at other times waaaaay too fast. The whole thing reeks of current year cultural marxism as well. Absolutely disgusting. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kkat could wipe the floor with J.O.K.E. Rowling in just about every category for what makes a story good except for descriptions. I'll hand it to her, she does paint a pretty nice picture and has a strange way of bending english to have it make sense without having to explain it.

If you’ve actually gotten to read this, thank you! You are truly a brave and wonderful mare, and I applaud you for, as my boyfriend would likely put it, having some real ‘cojones’. I’ve been following your articles for some time now, and reading your words and learning about what you’ve gone through has given me the courage to say this:

I am a changeling.

You have to go back. You're not in Equestria legally.

Guess we’ll see in time! Take care, folks. Enjoy the holidays, whatever one you celebrate, and if you happen to end in Las Pegasus for New Years, don’t expect to keep your shirt on!

Remind me to diet and exercise like a madman before going to Equestria.

Or I could do that...

To put it Frankly.

She did it , her way. :trollestia:

Been a fantastic ride. Hope to ride again someday with another story of yours.

I can say the story over all was and is awesome but in this last Q & A the one question was really just perfect.
the well I don't know if I would say question or not more of a latter but any who it was the changeling question.
(A Torn and Distraught Fan of Yours) this can be taken to heart in the real world also we as bronys tend to hide fearing ridicule and just out right people showing just how much of a ass the human race really is.
ok that rant over with I hope I can see a few side story I would like to see but I also know it is vary unlikely to ever happen.

agene this story is just perfect and in a way can be looked at as being real and how the world really is.

on't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Farewell 5SS.

My thoughts exactly.

I must admit that I have been very moved by your story and the stories of your friends and lovers. However, there is something that troubles me; a fact of life that can’t be ignored in the face of this new kind of relationship. That fact being that Humans and Ponies cannot produce offspring together.

About the only people in risk of dying out are white people and the Japanese, both due to death spiral birth-rates. Ponies on the other hand do face a long-term issue of becoming a multicultural hellhole if they let too many different types of people in.

Of course not. Celestia believes in friendship but firmness. Of course, they do have the ultimate border wall in that there's exactly one easily guarded entry point into Equestria from Earth,

In pretty much every story in the Gentlemanverse humans that come in are Westerners or western-presenting like Harry, so everything is more or less okay in that regard. I don't think Celestia is stupid enough to let ISIS run all the little ponies over with a The Moving Van of Tolerance.

I seem to recall a certain famous Filipino as well. Personally, I'd love to turn the griffies lose on ISIS. Imagine Fortrakt leading a century of Talons armed with an M-4 with 40mm undermount raining hell on them. I've always had a half-idea for doing a story like that where Fortrakt comes to Earth and undergoes marine training as an exchange of sorts and ends up in an actual operation fighting with our weapons. It would be an interesting thing to explore!

Obama presented a litany of issues, not the least of which was severe narcissism. He was incapable of learning from his mistakes, actually believed the crap he spouted, and political correctness assured his words weren't challenged by the bulk of the press, who adored him as the avatar of multiculturalism, globalism and political correctness. That he was an absolutely horrible president who left the world a far worse place than he entered with the Middle East in flames and American foreign policy in ruins, refugees flooding Europe and our own country flooded with illegal aliens he refused to block doesn't enter to these people. They'll willing to sacrifice everything on the high altar of globalism and liberalism and the rest of us are racist for refusing to get with the program.

I despite identity politics, which is all Obama and the left traffic in anymore. I refuse to identify as anything except American, and that title I wear proudly and always will. I love my country and will oppose and all efforts to disparage it or its history in the name of political correctness or any other twisted historical revisionism to suit liberal tastes or advance agendas I see as extremely misguided if not outright evil.

Going forward with this universe is going to be a deep dive into science fiction.

You said it! But it's going to be a fun one too...

I couldn't do it, even if was Roseluck and Applejack.

Thankfully, nobody is making you or anyone else do that. Another question to be explored as the universe is delved deeper into is such offspring comes along and gender ratios become more equal to ponies, either because of more humans or because science/magic figures out how to solve the gender disparity in births, what happens to Equestrian society and herd-based structure then? That could mean enormous upheaval a generation or two down the line.

You know, I never heard the term 'greentexting' before this. That looks like fun! Let me try:

> Write a question for the Q&A that triggers yourself.

> Start writing a very measured reply full of factual counterarguments but find yourself very dissatisfied with it.

> Discuss with friend.

> Friend offers to write it himself and wants to.

> Breathe sigh of relief

> Go into meeting at work and forget about it until you get home.

> Finally read it and find yourself applauding at an extremely direct approach that says exactly I'm too polite to.

> Worry that it's so brilliant but harsh it's going to overshadow the chapter or garner negative reviews but include it anyway.

> Post chapter

> See favorable comment and breathe sigh of relief

> Shake head and wonder

> Giggle and laugh at friend's longpost greentext

I wasn't lying. You hit this out of the park. That's a Sargon-level screed right there!

Oh yeah, one more thing about Hoofington: we also have a dragon security officer, and he knows Kung Fu. His words, not mine.

The Mushu Tap Shoe is nothing to be taken lightly!

Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris have nothing on that!

Something you're rectifying now with Movie Night!

Somehow, I can quite easily see this being a thing in the G4Mverse... FoE as a game franchise within it? A verse within a verse! Verseception...

Agreed. They fixed a lot of the pacing issues in the movies, but some of it still got through. There were a fair number of things that needed to be left on the cutting room floor, like the whole Hermoine-freeing-the-House-Elves subplot or the ghost Christmas party Harry and the others visited. Other times, too much was cut out, like the tangled relationship between Snape and Professor Lupin/Harry's godfather. She's a little to in love with her prose at times, and no matter how good it is, your eyes start to glaze over when you read yet another useless scene that doesn't advance the plot.

She's a hard-core liberal, as well you know. I've heard anecdotally she hates America as well. I can write too, but unfortunately, I don't have her audience.

I am a changeling.

You have to go back. You're not in Equestria legally.

Slight difference. They've always been there. You could even call them indigenous, which presents its own set of issues. Of course, by that definition, the Cloven had every right to invade the Griffin Kingdom since they were once native there!

Guess we’ll see in time! Take care, folks. Enjoy the holidays, whatever one you celebrate, and if you happen to end in Las Pegasus for New Years, don’t expect to keep your shirt on!

Remind me to diet and exercise like a madman before going to Equestria.

Already doing so in anticipation! Down 25 pounds and have put on a lot of muscle. Have to look my best for Five Stars and Kamilya (my main anthro character), after all...

Or I could do that...

Be brainwashed by media propaganda in a complete and total mental breakdown staged to sell t-shirts? Please don't!!!!!

8066301

Indeed she did. And in the end, I wrote it, my way. :moustache:

8067961

And it's been good having you! :coolphoto: Thanks for the occasional comment and look forward to seeing you on future stories.

8068203

Thanks for following and commenting! :pinkiehappy: Your feedback was always appreciated; believe me I enjoy hearing about how people have liked my stories and individual chapters! At least one side story is planned, but not immediately as I have other projects to work on. As for the Changeling, if you want to know more, follow Denim_Blue's story A Gentleman in Training. It's very well-written and goes into how Gentleman are trained. I've been referencing stuff from it in the later chapters. The question of the Changeling will be answered there.

8068253
I am up to date with A Gentleman in Training and find it to be a vary good story also.
if I remember I have PM'ed you my idea in the past for a possible side story so as to try and stop you being over whelmed with ideas witch I am sure is happening any ways.

8065924
As an aside though, what DO you think would happen if a human used the Alicorn Amulet?

Just finished reading the final chapter. It was a satisfying conclusion to Five Star's story and though I'm sad to see It come to an end, I really enjoyed reading it since you published the first chapter. You brought so much depth and character to Five Stars over the course of this story. Her journey from beginning to end was an incredible mix of tragedy and triumph, love and rejection, and I'm glad to see that after all she has been through, she was able to finally find a place for herself in the world.

Thank you for including me in the writing process. Having the character from my own story make a brief appearance and including my letters in you Q&A chapters were very enjoyable reading experiences. If I ever get around to finishing my own story, I'll be sure to include some references to yours.

Until then, I'll be looking forward to reading what you come up with next, so keep up the good work!

8082029

Sadly, I don't have any such fond memories to speak of. I identify with him too, but for different reasons. Maybe one of the reasons I wrote him like that was that I hoped I might yet get the same experience someday.

8082054

Hah! Well, I think Demon Eyes Laharl already has that covered in Feathered Heart more or less, since the griffies get introduced to gunmen in the form of US Marines there and it does involve at least one romance! But I do make reference to a Gentleman encounter with a griffin later on. I borrow heavily from his worldbuilding there and make the griffins warriors who love a good fight and even base their dating/mating culture around it.

8082055

Thanks! But you're only halfway through at that point. Still plenty to enjoy, and the biggest scenes still to come!

8082103

Well, as Five Stars states, most mares don't need training or encouragement to do that! But done in an actual story? No, definitely not... you're right in that there's a slew of side story material here, and people are more than welcome to pick it up. Will I? Maybe eventually I'll do a couple of them myself, but I need a break from this world for a bit and to complete several other writing projects first.

8082105

Fixed. You're right, that's the correct comma usage there.

8084479

That's the idea, yep. :rainbowlaugh: Ponies quickly found humans were very easy to tweak over their nudity taboos, so in places like Manehattan it became a pastime.

8086092

Thank you for your kind words and voicing your opinion respectfully. Believe me, not everyone does.

I do apologize if you feel that way. :ajsleepy: I learned a long time ago you can't please everyone, but it still stings a bit to hear that there were those who didn't like the ending. But there's a good reason most people enjoyed it; there's also a good reason I did it, and I assure you it's not because I didn't care. It was time to end the story, yes, but my motivation here was to send it out with a bang via a surprise crossover character, one that multiple people had in fact asked for in earlier comments.

I thought the punch was well-telegraphed and the identity of this person obvious, but I guess not everybody is familiar with Ace Attorney. This character in question is Phoenix Wright, star of the Ace Attorney game series you can play on your Nintendo 3DS. In a nutshell, he's a lawyer and you have to defend your clients from murder charges, which means investigating scenes, collecting evidence and then arguing cases using logic and evidence to discover contradictions in testimony and eventually uncover the true culprit. It's a very unique game series and system they use, one that's rather addicting once you get into it. The games were made in Japan, so yes, he's a manga-ish character, and the objection graphics you saw came directly from the games' English versions.

He's a fascinating and popular character that has figured heavily in two major stories I've written/worked on, namely Turnabout Storm and The Lawyer and The Unicorn (not linked because of site rules regarding M-rated stories; available in my stories list). Turnabout Storm is a fan-made video series crossover between him and MLP where he defends Rainbow Dash from a murder charge, and one I highly encourage you to watch as it was my introduction to him as well, and I immediately became fascinated with his character. I then set off to edit and write for the novelization, which took me two years-plus to do, turning the entire video series into a greatly expanded 400k word epic that also included a romance subplot with Twilight. I then turned *that* into a new standalone story (The Lawyer and the Unicorn) which explores his growing romance with Twilight that I'm finishing up next, and includes a very unique case for him to argue.

Why did I use him? Because he is a character that means a great deal to me, and has meant a great deal to my writing. Bringing him in here was homage and a way to tie together my works a bit more. I'm sorry you didn't like him, but I'd encourage you to learn more about him by watching Turnabout Storm or game walkthrough videos, all of which are available on youtube. He comes from a very rich universe full of good characters and worldbuilding (much like MLP:FiM or the G4Mverse!); this version of him was taken from the fourth game of the series when he's fallen and fallen hard. Yes, his arguments were rather poor because a) he's been away from the courtroom for five years and b) he's reciting all the typical--and easily refutable--arguments against Gentleman. However, this is typically the way he acts and his cases go; you see the objection graphics on the game every time an objection is made. I took very great pains to put this in character for him and make it plausible. I think for the most part I succeeded.

I guess the bottom line is, I wanted to do something special for the ending, and this was it. I'm actually very pleased with the way it turned out, and the reaction it garnered. I'm sorry this went over like a lead balloon with you, but I can't apologize for it. Yes, I could have chosen a safer or more conventional character to end it with, but one thing you'll learn about me is I don't do 'safe'. I always like to push the boundaries of what I write. I ship the unshippable (see The Lawyer and The Unicorn), I turn G1 ponies into badass warriors (See Rise of Firefly), I turn the ending ascension scene of Friendship Games into one of the most M-rated stories you've ever seen (Unleash the Magic: Midnight Rising)... and I tell the tale of a bit character from the original G4M as a series of lurid magazine articles, in a story format I doubt exists anywhere else on site, bringing in a crossover character from my other works in the process.

Anyway, I'm glad you (mostly) enjoyed the story, and I hope you find this explanation satisfactory. I encourage you once again to learn more about the character through the video and other links above, because I think then you'll find these chapters far more enjoyable if you do. In the meantime, have a good one, and thanks for commenting.

Done!

I'll be writing up two reviews for this.

8086416

1. Who said anything about fond memories? It was kinda important and exciting, but far from a favorite memory.

2. I was thinking of a more expansive dedicated story about something like a Gentlemen style agency. That could dabble in entire areas of cultural exchange and plots that haven't been tackled yet. I'd just also like to see how Equestria would react to camoed up guys in armored vests with AK's fulfilling functions normally exclusive to the Royal Guard. I think that the fact that they aren't career troops of anything so official as a nation state would definitely make things extremely interesting.

3. Given how many lonely, spurned, maladjusted men there are on earth, I think it would be an interesting continuation of the running G4M theme of bridging gaps to meet mutual needs. Surely there must be as many mares spoiled on stallions and herds, looking to Earth as there must be down on their luck, done wrong dudes looking to Equestria. If anything, this strikes me as the logical continuation of G4M. Given how strongly you present the mares as having an instinct to want to comfort and nurture stallions who oftentimes don't really fully reciprocate emotionally or physically, one would think that there could be quite a market for such men in need of female companionship, as well as a supply of mares more than happy to provide companionship with benefits, especially to males who want to not just be loved, but also give love in return.

8099429

Thank you for the review and the Accepted label! You've got a lot to say, and after reading through it, be assured that so do I. I'll wait for your second review before replying, but be warned that as you said some things I thought were unfair or otherwise strongly disagreed with, you can expect my response to be every bit as direct as yours. However, you also said some things that on reflection I agree with, so after reading your first review, I have removed the objection graphics.

8100033

Reading and reviewing this story was my genuine pleasure. :pinkiehappy: God willing, I can get my personal review to you to bicker over in the next week or two.
In the meantime, may we keep talking the ideas I brought up?

When you ask for a personal review, and then delete said personal review when it doesn't kiss your ass... that's pretty pathetic.

8179369

It would be if that's what I did.

I deleted it because a) I didn't ask for a personal review, b) he attacked me in it publicly after I criticized parts of his initial review privately, c) his review opened with a threat and personal attack on me in which he implied I didn't have the right to challenge him and he'd do worse if I didn't shut up, and d) because after he posted it, I immediately picked up two downvotes from friends he clearly invited in to upvote his review and downvote me. And I'm sorry, but that's something I simply can't let pass.

In the end, I thought about it for a full week, and decided I could not let it stay, as nobody would read past that first paragraph and anybody who saw it would come away with a negative impression and not read the story.

I offered him via PM the chance to repost it without the offending first paragraph, and that offer still stands.

8184231 thanks much appreciated

How you managed to predict an episode title so many years in advance is beyond me, but I am quite impressed.

Believe me, if I could do it deliberately, I would!

Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.

As long as M Night Shyamalan isn’t directing it. :facehoof:

8569856

This is a good thing! :pinkiehappy: Read and enjoy.

8573465

Thanks! *eats cookie*. True, I did telegraph a bit, but that was an early effort to get some more interest in a then-languishing story by incorporating a more familiar and fan-favorite character.

8575188

Valid points. But nevertheless, the choice of colors helped sell her. I still have fond memories of the first time I saw those two episodes, even if I still think the ending (like so many other season premiere/finales) was too abrupt and rushed.

8575543

It is indeed. I wish I was as good at the poker table as these two. Then again, my poker play in Las Vegas was (obviously) the inspiration for these guys. Are they a self-insert? Only partially. I certainly wouldn’t do what they later did to Five Stars... :unsuresweetie:

8575581

Thanks! This is the closest to UtM-level the story ever got, but unlike that one, there were severe consequences this time for all concerned.

8575615

I don't get it either. I know it's a thing, but the why escapes me. My best guess is it's a remnant from the days when sex was a more private and "sacred" thing.

Everybody’s got their hangups. Ours is sex. The story will soon make clear that ponies have them too, just a different set of them.

... Damn. I'm very glad I've never touched drugs in my life. Hell, the most alcohol I've had was accidentally thinking white wine was water as a 5 year old. Never again.

Alcohol is fine in moderation. I have a five or so drinks a week, usually of wine. But I rarely exceed two drinks in the same night, because after that I start having sleep issues. I fall asleep easier for that much alcohol, but then wake up halfway through the night and have a very difficult time getting back to sleep after.

8575999

In a weird way, it’s part of what makes us human. That we do fuck up and fuck up badly, but keep moving forward overall.

8577517

For many years it was my all time favorite movie, and I did see the Broadway show in Las Vegas at one point, at the Mandalay Bay of what is now mass shooting infamy. :ajsleepy:

8577553

You’d better! :trixieshiftleft:

Of course! Every Evil Queen should have a few underlings, darling. We’ll even see if we can get Lady Rarity to help you look the part!

Can this be a thing? This is too funny for it to NOT be.

Come on man, I have more sense than that. And more taste. I watch all of A:TLA. I've never seen the movie proper except for the Nostalgia Critic's review of it and the Cinema Wins of it. I can link you to either if you're interested. CinemaWins is exactly what it sounds like. The opposite of CinemaSins. The good in movies instead of the bad. A nice change of pace considering how negative the Internet can get. Am I rambling? I feel like I am.

Congrats on making it to the end! I enjoyed even your brief commentary along the way. Hope you enjoyed it, and Phoenix’s appearance at the end, though in all honesty, I’m not satisfied with the way the big scene between him and Five Stars came out and will redo it at some future point. But, I hope you can appreciate Five Stars’ appearance and other various mutual references between 5SS and TLaTU now. Thanks for the read and the like!!!!

I love how Celestia's letter boils down to "Don't be fucking idiots" just, a lot more wordy.

She’s subtle about it, but her message still comes across loud and clear here.

8634521

“I’m sorry. Maybe I misheard you. Are you accusing me of being immodest, Miss-write-an-entire-magazine-series-detailing-your-sexual-escapades-including-me?”

He has you dead to rights there, 5 Stars.

Indeed, but she doesn’t mind one bit.

“Brave? Proud?” I sniffled, thinking of all the times I’d been afraid, if not an outright coward, telling her as much.

Courage is not the absence of fear. It's overcoming it.

This. A thousand times.

8636946

The Attorney.

Phoenix Wright?

Yes, indeed. My riskiest move of the entire story, but I wanted something special at the end. I kind of the interplay and how I put the hobo version of Phoenix in, but like I said up top, I think the sex scene could be better.

Of course! Every Evil Queen should have a few underlings, darling. We’ll even see if we can get Lady Rarity to help you look the part!

Can this be a thing? This is too funny for it to NOT be.

For you? Sure! I can find a way to make it happen in the eventual sequel.

I have watched it and was gravely disappointed on it, but there is one reason I keep the movie around. Prince Zuko looks exactly like I did at age 19. So I can imagine it’s me. I wouldn’t mind having firebending powers, even if I thought they were woefully underpowered in the movie.

She’s subtle about it, but her message still comes across loud and clear here.

That's the beauty of being as old and experienced as she is. She can never raise her voice, never lose her temper, stay perfectly calm and not use anything that would remotely approach strong language, and it hurts even more than if she smacked you upside the head and told you to not be a fucking idiot.

Indeed, but she doesn’t mind one bit.

She's made THAT clear.

This. A thousand times.

Absence of fear in the face of danger is not courage. It's stupidity. There's a fine line, and it's not easy to stay on the right side of it. Being brave is more than not being scared, it's being scared, knowing you're scared, but carrying on anyway despite that because what must be done must be done. I make that sound so dramatic.

Yes, indeed. My riskiest move of the entire story, but I wanted something special at the end. I kind of the interplay and how I put the hobo version of Phoenix in, but like I said up top, I think the sex scene could be better.

Yeah, yeah...

For you? Sure! I can find a way to make it happen in the eventual sequel.

YES! *fistpump*

Oh yeah, they were. In the show, they had pyrogeneration, creating fire. Here, they just had pyroKINESIS, controlling it. Which, while still impressive, for a myriad of reasons, is far less so than, pretty much every fire wielder I've seen in fiction. There are some moments that are cooler than others but, the whole movie is a disappointment.

I’m not satisfied with the way the big scene between him and Five Stars came out and will redo it at some future point.

I think that may be for the best. It wasn't BAD, but, it did feel somewhat awkward in places. You could have done better. But, then again, in the wise words of Captain Rex, "Experience outranks everyone."

Thank you, Firesight, for what has been a wonderful read and an amazing story arc. I've been devouring the G4Mverse quite heavily and loved Five Stars' tale and the political, romantic, and emotional drama and interactions involved. Also thoroughly enjoyed the sex, as it should be.

My question is this, one that I've been pondering for a while. Considering Artificial Insemination and the other forms of gene therapy available these days, including the remarkable ability for two women to have biological children of one another, how would this effect the worlds?

I've always noticed artificial insemination gets glossed over alot in these kinds of stories. From the possibility of mare and human couples picking a sire and the mare having foals they can raise together, to the eventual process that might allow two mares to have foals together, how wondrous would that be? Especially when magic is applied to the equation. And while modern medicine isn't exactly on top of the whole 'take the dna from one woman's egg and put it into the egg of another' to allow fertilization and breeding(Its still something that is not actively done well... anywhere), it leaves alot of fun and open questions.

And considering the magic of Equestria and the science of Earth, one day the dna could be compatible to allow mares to have children of their human lovers. Either a fascinating centaur mixture of the two or by magic(as many other stories have done), allow them to have foals biologically their child. Also the very possibility of briefly turning into a pony, having sex during estrus, and bam, there you go.

It makes me wonder, and consider all the future ramifications. But I do wonder how artificial insemination would come across to the Ponies of Equis. And the various other scientific and genetic ramifications.

That one question about breeding and all that to its furthest levels made me think of it, and one day consider the possibility though. A human/mare couple getting a sperm donation from a clinic set up on Equis where Stallions could donate to help with the population, or possibly a donor stallion and the romantic and relationship things that could do. Also the simple possibility of, as Celestia joked, of turning briefly into a stallion to enjoy a good estrus rutting with your mare and conceive a foal as your pony self that would genetically be yours when you return to human that you can raise together.

So many possibilities to explore.

Again, thank you for your writing. Looking forward to reading more!

You’re very, very welcome. Thank you for taking the time to longpost; I find this very gratifying to read! :pinkiehappy:

It’s a valid question. IT could be a godsend for Equestria to finally have ways to address their gender inbalance or keep up their numbers despite the lack of stallions, but would also mean great social and societal changes. Even outright upheaval.

I agree. And as it happens, there is an active story in the Gentlemanverse that’s start to address some of these questions. I advise you to check out the following:

[Adult story embed hidden]

It’s another M-rated story by a friend, edited by me. In it, some of these very issues will be examined and addressed as a surprising means for mares to have foals with each other is revealed. Give it a look!

The question is also being addressed by one of my other stories; The Lawyer and The Unicorn, where it’s revealed that unicorn magic tends to involuntarily alter their non-pony mates to make them more compatible, up to and including limited physical transformation that’s just enough to let them have foals with that mate.

It makes me wonder, and consider all the future ramifications. But I do wonder how artificial insemination would come across to the Ponies of Equis. And the various other scientific and genetic ramifications.

They would be great indeed, and hopefully other authors will explore these topics down the line.

Well, even in this verse, physical transformation via potion/spell is possible; what’s not currently is that you could sire that way. Once you turn back--and you always will--your little piece of material would turn back as well. Even if you’ve already conceived, that would make that first cell unviable. Magic is not a cure-all; it has rules and laws it must follow, and one of them is that transformative magic is never permanent. Nevertheless, it is a potential avenue to explore...

So many possibilities to explore.

As you say! Check out the stories listed above. They already do or are beginning to.

Again, thank you for your writing. Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks! You won’t have long to wait... as it happens, I’m going to revamp and re-release the two Attorney chapters towards the end (Part 26 and Part 27), as I consider those not up to my usual standards and have major issues that need to be addressed. The initial back-and-forth argument between ‘Nicholas’ and Five Stars is going to be heavily reworked, as is their major scene between them in part 27. Be looking for them!

Well shit, I've finished. Great story Firesight, an amazing insight into Five Stars and even the universe's past a whole.

Regretfully, I didn't really comment a whole lot lime I usually do, but that's due to my distaste for mobile when it comes to typing. I hate autocorrect mishaps or just plain mistakes. For example, I nearly said "this universe's pasta as a whole"!

Most of my comments would have been me being emotionally abused, though, because jeez was this a roller-coaster. Just as fun as one, too.

Thank you! It was my first story, and still in some ways my best, a now-corrected stumble at the end notwithstanding.

Heh. Believe me, I sympathize; i’ve had them too. I don’t generally comment over my phone unless it’s a brief note. Especially since pony-related terms are prime candidates for autocorrect errors.

Most of my comments would have been me being emotionally abused, though, because jeez was this a roller-coaster. Just as fun as one, too.

That’s what I was going for--lots of highs and lows, lots and lots of feels. Just like Five Stars has had in her life. I’m gratified it had this effect on you. I appreciate you taking the time to read it, and to commenting here at the end. Stuff like this makes my day.

There will be more written in this universe eventually, and perhaps even a bonus chapter for this at some point. Until then, hope to see you on more of my stories!

8927947
Actually, I have read The Lawyer and Unicorn, just haven't gotten around to commenting on it. Funny enough, I hadn't read Turnabout Storm, but I did listen to an audio drama of it a while back. (At least I think it was Turnabout Storm, there might be another Phoenix Wright ponyified story out there. It was a few years ago.)

Anyway, I would be delighted to see more from you in this universe specifically! I absolutely love this universe, right next to YHaY, so whenever I can get my hands on stories pertaining to this universe, I'm there for the taking.

I don't know if I already said it, but thank you for including my question in the final Q&A.

You're very welcome. Thanks for contributing!

Thank you foe the reply, good sir. I've enjoyed this joyful story quiet a lot. Though I found the cultural, social, and political reactions to Gentlemen for Mares to be quite interesting, especially the snippets from the New York Times and the article's publisher over diverse reactions to the adult themes of the story itself.

But I had concerns over how some of the negative reactions were being portrayed, including those with whom are the political left of the spectrum.

Do forgive me, it has been a long time since I've read this fic, and given that this fic during what is happening online with the whole SJW debate, largely on YouTube, Reddit, and various social media networks.

I liked it a lot better when it was a story and not just a thinly veiled pulpit for you to rail against your strawman. I initially enjoyed those "letters from the editor" segments, but quickly began to simply scroll past them, as I realized there was only so many times I could read some tiresome variation of "damn those mean ol' SJWs" before I got bored.

Wow! Your first!? Awesome work, man!

I hear ya. We all have busy lives. I have my fingers crossed that you'll find the time and motivation to work on those stories.

That doesn’t mean there can’t be callbacks to it, though! It also doesn’t mean a certain attorney might not appear later. :raritywink:

I recall you mentioning that from The Lawyer and the Unicorn. I'm curious to see what he'll be doing in this story. Defending Five Stars from a yet another bad heard mate?
