Hmm, does a certain lawyer now exist in this world because of this crossover?

Its a possibility, if my grasp on the timeline is anything to go by that is. But its a distant one at best, AU and all that.
Things keep moving along nicely in this story however, though why am I getting the impression that putting all of this out there is one last bit of help that she needs to some degree? Or if not for her than someone else.
hmmm. nice character, that cruise control guy. he reminds me of myself when i was in grade school. thnx for another chapter fire :3

Cruise and Lenora are here as homage. You can make of their presence what you may.

We'll see. This is one of those stories that's writing itself as it goes. Five Stars is as much telling *me* her past as I'm coming up with it. I like to think that's the mark of a good story, when it leads the author along.

You're very welcome. I think we can all relate to Cruise a bit.

And without a map no less. But hey so long as you don't end up near a river and start asking the others where the map is you will be just fine.

Thanks. The low reads has been a constant source of frustration to me, but I'm a first-time author and trying to earn my faves. Getting a slow trickle of them at least. Appreciate the thumbs-up, definitely.
You're right in that the story is handicapped for not involving any of the major characters, but that's the story I chose to tell. Hopefully as time goes on, that will change a bit.
4834504 Well I'll be with you until the end on this one. I can promise you that!
I read every chapter and it took me like 10 hours but it was worth it! Five Stars is just such a curiosity for me as far as characters go, and you really brought out her character from G4M and fleshed her out. I genuinely wonder if ever such a person has existed in reality as her and how cool it would be to know her? I guess this is the next best thing eh?
Glad to see The Great Demon Eyes Larl is proofreading this stuff for you. Hopefully he'll break off a chunk of those 1500 members and send them over here!
oh my... i just realized something. cruise control!!!! he was a character from ace storm turnabout!!!!! i don't know why i didn't notice it the first time i finished watching the vid you gave me the link to.
good one firesight. you never fail to surprise XD

The Cruise Control in this story is indeed the same character from Turnabout Storm. I write for and edit the novelization, so this is me paying a little homage to it through him. I wanted to put a few references to TS into this story, and he and Lenora are the only characters I felt safe using. Consider this an AU to Turnabout Storm.

Well, if someone like Five Stars really exists, I'm sorry to say I haven't met her. She's become something of a muse to me though. One of a very few I've ever had...
DEL occasionally prereads my stuff. I wish I had even a fraction of his audience, but it's honor enough just to get to play in his sandbox. I like to think the readers will come in time, given the story is only half over at this point.
Wow...
Even for all the drama in the previous chapters, it's Cruise Control who really strikes me at my core. I'd like to write more, but there's little else to say besides just how deeply this chapter goes for me.
The Cruise Control chapter. I liked him better in this than Turnabout Storm; that's for sure. WAAHHHHH ALL CAPS! I'M CRAZY! (sigh).
Pretty much any store with a magazine rack is filled with porn for women. They're called 'romance novels'. Honestly, critics, how is this any worse than your morbidly obese co-workers stash of Harlequin books? Leave our boners alone!
The Fairness Doctrine was repealed in 1987 in the United States. This is why conservative talk radio exists — among other things. These challenges are baseless. On a side note: the so-called Equal Time rule doesn't apply here, but is used to balance coverage in a political discussion.
To be fair, the rules governing 'ie' and 'ei' are contradictory and bogus. If I didn't have spellcheck, I'd be doomed!

About time someone said it. Oh wait, we've been saying this forever and getting ignored! Clearly, I just need to check my privilege. In fairness — because I do like to be fair! Believe it or not — this is something men need to square with as well. If you start out wanting an 8 out of 10 on the beauty scale and you're unattractive, overweight, poor or just overall unlikable, you may have to scale back your expectations and stop whining. Or forget about the whole thing and just better yourself for your own sake. This is the best option, in my view.
Most women will have more partners than your average man and cast them off with little care, particularly the pretty ones. Here's a trick though for the ladies! You don't even have to be super-attractive to pull it off; 5 or 6 on a scale of 10 and you can pull this off easily! Women are actually creating their own little hoards by moving in with a guy, breaking up, and asking for a piece of furniture until they get an entire set for their own apartment, condo, what have you, all for free! Excellent way to get around the rapidly decreasing pool of men willing to marry! Important: You'll know when it's time to move to the next guy when the current one stops caring. Guys have a period up front where they are sucking up to the gal at maximum capacity; it's kinda like a guy who gets hired at new job and starts slacking once he knows he's past the probation period.
Armed with this knowledge, you will now no longer have to worry about your man hooking up with a mare. Screw that guy! Go forth and acquire home furnishings!
Interesting indeed. Personally I would have gone for something that sounded a bit more heroic. "Go unto the land, based OC, and subdue the stallions of Baltimare, even unto the Bay of Horseshoe, that your name be proclaimed in the midst of climax..."
The completion of Turnabout Storm put a lot of OC's out of work. It's a scary new world for those poor souls.
He kept her cooling her hooves for three weeks? That's hardcore!
Ahh, I see where this is going. He sees himself as unworthy of her. Props to Five Stars for not smashing what remains of his confidence for the pleasure of watching him suffer. I feel like I need to pay her compliment for that.
I don't mean to carp, but it is difficult to imagine she's being so nice to this guy. This is "no woman ever" behavior.
It was obligatory to have him do the routine at least once. I appreciate that it is only once.
Now that I can believe! He just got really lucky with Five Stars being on the mend at the same time he is. People, or ponies, have an instinctive revulsion to mentally imbalanced people that is nigh impossible to overcome and for women it's utterly impossible since what's to stop the bigger and stronger male from doing whatever he wants?
Get her off as much as possible. I recommend foreplay before you waste your shot. In all seriousness, that's really the only thing you can do if you don't know. Like Five Stars said, "Ask!"
G4M canon established for earth pony males. Take note, aspiring writers!
You know you've arrived as a gentleman when you can get through a preening session without a single "ptoo!"
Many brave swimmers were lost that day. A necessary tragedy to assure the success of future operations. War is hell!
Lily... I see you're back. (cough)
Yeah... heh. The ice cream was a welcome treat after the whole... thestral incident.
You performed admirably... even if you did use a simile instead of a metaphor at one point. That was still mid-grade clop at least! Did you have something to say about the scene?
Those two? Ew, straight! Actually I was just curious if you ever... took a colts vir...gin...ity.
You are fearless today, Lily! To answer your question: yes; only once. He's an appleloosian, but that's all I can safely say. As much as I take pride in each and every encounter I have, to kiss and tell would dishonor my stallion's name. I owe them better than that for giving me their time.
I never figured a mare such as yourself would hold each... encounter as sacred. That's more admirable than I could have ever hoped!
You don't give stallions enough credit. Sure, they weren't all great, but they're a rare and precious breed to be respected for the most part.
But why haven't you settled down with one?
You sound like my mother!
Your mother, Rose? I've never heard you speak of her before! Do you two still communicate?
I... I don't think I'm ready to talk about it yet.
We've come full-circle! Nice way to incorporate TAS into this story!
Ahhh, first times... sexy, scary, cute, intimate, hot, awkward, and more nerve-wracking than a patrol in hostile territory. I remember mine as the most foreboding thing that I ever went into eagerly. I identify so much with Cruise Control here it's not even funny. Amazing what a good bout of loving can do for someone.
Ooooh! I know this one.
I had a feeling Cruise Control and Lenora would make an appearance, but wasn't sure how you'd fit the Turnabout Storm events into this. It seems that Ace Swift (or at least the shameless liar and manipulator and cheater version of him) didn't exist in this story since he wasn't brought up--or the fact that Cruise' sister was in Canterlot hospital, and, according to Turnabout Storm, only residents of Canterlot can go there. So, I can only guess that this story and TS are not canon.

He doesn’t. Maybe he was caught; maybe he never met Sonata. Or maybe it’s something else entirely. You are correct; this story is not canon to Turnabout Storm, which takes place in a different verse (which I call the “Phoenixverse”). That doesn’t mean there can’t be callbacks to it, though! It also doesn’t mean a certain attorney might not appear later.
