It's father's day in Ponyville and everypony is happy, but for one little dragon this holiday only brings sorrow.

On his way from visiting Zecora he finds a black gem that he decides to eat and grants him the power over shadows and darkness. Pranks and chaos ensues as he uses his new found power's to have some fun on Nightmare Night.

Spike was left alone in Manehatten, blamed himself for the breezies and Twilight, his practical big sister, completely ignored him when he was scared to death in the Everfree Castle. Realizing that no one may care about him anymore, Spike thinks that he is no longer needed and tries to kill himself.

Making friends is hard. Especially when you're trying to live up to seemingly unreachable expectations. Starlight knows this firsthoof.

Fortunately for her, Spike has a bit of wisdom to share that might just help.
