Starlight Glimmer had all she could want. She was in charge of a village of ponies, and she had convinced them all to give up their cutie marks in pursuit of what she believed was true and irrefutable friendship.

Now though, the house of cards has come crashing down. Starlight is revealed as a fraud and captured by the element bearers. Her villagers reclaim their cutie marks and renounce her beliefs. However, one of the ponies formerly living under her rules decides she needs a punishment most befitting of her crime.

This story is part of a group of stories I'm calling the Taste of Their Own Medicine series. In all of these stories, the message is clear: It ain't so great to have a taste of your own medicine.

In this retelling of the Friendship is Magic series, there will be many things different from the usual. Chief among them are the existence of three additional Elements of Harmony (which will be introduced later) and Spike getting more respect from the start.

When Sunset Shimmer left Celestia's tutelage, she entered the magic mirror that had shown her dreams coming true, but instead of ending up in a simian mirror-version of Canterlot, she ended up in a strange school of magic, an esoteric, arcane, and clumsy kind of magic, but a potent one nonetheless.

Disoriented, and her mission somewhat derailed, Sunset is nonetheless determined to become an alicorn. She has glimpsed eternity, and will continue to pursue it. Whether the magics of the school of Hogwarts will aid her or not remains to be seen.

There, she meets a wide variety of ponies: A hyperactive mare who picks apples for a living, a pompous unicorn who focuses more on controlling the weather than anything else, a hardworking seamstress, a loud and brass veterinarian, and a strange but surprisingly social pegasus party pony. But a dark mare ruins the whole party. Can she save the day with these ponies?

Daybreaker is defeated and Equestria is saved, but for Twilight and her new group of friends, the adventure doesn't end there. Join Mane 6 as they face bitter rivals, annoying pests, high society, and the challenges of everyday pony life.

Twilight Sparkle never thought she would ever be interested in teaching. Her entire existance was spent devoted to the study of magic (and the avoidance of making friends). But everything changed after she hosted a presentation at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, the very same school she failed to enter as a foal.
