In this retelling of the Friendship is Magic series, there will be many things different from the usual. Chief among them are the existence of three additional Elements of Harmony (which will be introduced later) and Spike getting more respect from the start.

I'm guessing those are "bonus" elements (i.e. elements not needed for the Elements to work per say, but when added, DO make the Elements more powerful).
Though, it's pretty ironic that one of Equestria's biggest egomaniacs could have the Element of Humility. I could definitely see the other two, but Trixie being Humility? That would take some pretty sizeable humility lessons that actually stuck.

Hey there. Not much I can say other than great job, thus far, on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up as well as the Adaptation Early Appearance by Shining Armor AND all the foreshadowing for characters that will appear later. And, yeah, I REALLY appreciate Spike getting a lot more respect this early on (though, ironically, they are LESS afraid of a dragon [albeit a young one] than they are of a Zebra who was just minding her own business [I mean, really, they LITERALLY treated Zecora like she was worse than Nightmare Moon at first, even though she did nothing to deserve that treatment]).
But, anyway, really looking forward to more of this.

I actually have an idea for this story's version of Bridle Gossip where Spike chews out the Mane 6 (barring Twilight) for how they're judging Zecora unfairly when they welcomed him, a dragon, into town and treated him with more respect in a day than he'd previously gotten in a week.

Just like @ChrisTheBrony1 I saw 'Spike treated with more respect' and I knew I had to read this one IMMEDIATELY, and already I'm loving it. Spike often got pushed to the sidelines in the show despite being a Main Character, which is a shame given his unique position as a baby dragon, but rarely in the show did anyone care or even notice him. So I'm quite happy to find a story that brings just as much attention to Spike as it does Twilight, like a proper equal, and Twilight being nicer, caring and more protective of Spike is an absolute win, and I love that Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie ACTUALLY acknowledge him in this story, and it actually feels like Spike is their friend, and the interactions between them so far is fantastic, I can't wait for the next chapter.

Given you highlighted Spike getting treated with more respect, presumably making him more important to your story, curious why Spike isn't one of the 9 Elements? Especially since he would make a perfect Element of Support or Element of Acceptance. Nothing wrong with him not being one of the 9 Elements, just curious as to why not?
