The world ended, a plague turning unicorn and alicorn alike into bloodthirsty monsters.

In its aftermath, with her lands and ponies still recovering, Princess Luna leads a team to the isolated village of Somnambula, the last part of Equestria left unaccounted for.

There are doubts that anypony survived in the month-long heat. But among the ruins of a civilization older even than her own, the Princess holds out hope.

However, all of that changed when they vanished for a thousand years, ushering in a new era of peace and prosperity. Until that is, when the Crystal Kingdom reappeared, along with one of the Shepherds. King Sombra, however, was thankfully vanquished swiftly, but the following peace of his defeat would not last as long as anypony might think. A new force sets its eyes on the recently coronated Princess Twilight Sparkle, one that seeks to restore a lost heritage and remind the land of who is the true owner of the night. For when one evil is smitten, another appears in its place. And King Sombra was only the first in line.

But that's a lie. It's always been a lie.

Things that live must also die. It's simply the cycle of life, and that cycle doesn't care about love or the pain it causes.

Until one day, that cycle is broken by a forgotten figure from her past: a little tortoise who's not so little anymore.

This story is, first and foremost, a gift for the incomparable Mushroom, who clearly must be some sort of undiscovered species of fungus dog since we definitely don't deserve her. I have it on good authority that this story gave her Many Feelings, and I hope it gives them to you, too. :)

This also won first place in the of the Quills and Sofas Speedwriting '2021 Gift Fic Exchange' contest portion, which is neat.

This story is a sequel to Second Princess of the Night

With Twilight and Ruby Sparkle settling into their new positions as rulers, they oversee the transition of the bat ponies to their new home. But now that two of the Four Shepherds have appeared, Equestria must prepare itself for the rest. The next Shepherd will be unlike Sombra or Night Walker, as he threatens not only Equestria, but the kingdoms of the other races as well. Awakening from his mysterious slumber, he will carve his way across the land, intent on regathering his unwilling army. But before he manages to travel to the edges of the world, he will leave a parting gift in his wake to Rainbow Dash and four other ponies he chanced upon. With her life forever changed, Rainbow Dash prepares herself for her new fate, as well as finding her place among the ponies that share her future.

It was a dark and stormy day when I began the next chapter of my latest book, which was concerning, given that it had been sunny just moments before.

On a still winter night Fluttershy finds herself delving into the Everfree Forest in search of the source of what's caused distress to her animal friends, and when she does she finds a most unsettling creature. It reminds her of a Changeling, but it's something else entirely, and something quite unfounded in her time.

Clearly the obvious course of action is to adopt it.

After the betrayal of her friends over the new rumors of Anon - a -Miss, Sunset finds herself stranded in a school that now hates her. But as she continues to persevere through the harrowing school days, she starts to see that not everything is perhaps as dark as she once made it out to be. Even if her own friends don't believe her, that doesn't mean there aren't others that do.

Various short stories based on the Anon - a - Miss story line that I've been so enthralled with, but done in a far lighter tone than most of the stories I tend to come across on the topic. Events will be altered slightly, as well as an addition of a Suicide tag which is for a later chapter, which will be warned in advance.

Trixie's line of work is dangerous. But she's a careful showpony, and that's why she's only died a few dozen times in her career.
