A violent, unexpected thunderstorm wakes Rainbow up in the middle of the night. Unable to do anything about the storm but unable to sleep, she has nothing to do except lay in bed and think. Ponies, Ponyville, her job, her friends, and the differences between Loyalty and Honesty - not all of them always make sense.

Frightened and alone, only the arrival of a young mare with a mane and tail of rainbows can settle the filly. Scootaloo will soon discover that sometimes the pony who means the most to you as an aspiration, can also be the pony whom you take refuge with at the end of the day.

When Applejack goes with Rainbow Dash on a trip to Fillydelphia, she learns that life doesn't always go according to plan... and that can lead to something better. Written because I wanted to do my take on a shipfic, minus what always annoyed me.

It could have been just another night. Instead, Vinyl Scratch leaves a show to find herself suddenly presented with a chance to make a difference in the life of a filly no one else will look twice at. Now if only she can convince Octavia she's not making a huge mistake...as usual.

Scootaloo's wings have been in severe pain, and she decides to ask Rainbow Dash to help her out. But Rainbow Dash might not actually be the best candidate to solve her problem. Scootaloo came to Ponyville as an orphan, and has been struggling with just that fact ever since her arrival. But recently she's been wondering why she became an orphan, and many things are brought to question, such as why she was abandoned. Was she not worth anything to her parents, but more importantly, if she wasn't worth anything, were she not special, and how would she then get her important cutie mark? This story will depict how the questions and their answers will affect the various relationships between Scootaloo and her friends.

Something is eating at Rainbow Dash. Ever since the Royal Wedding in Canterlot, she's been quiet, aloof, and distracted. After a long day's work of shaping the rainclouds over Ponyville, she can no longer keep the truth bottled in. The only problem is, as a picnic with her close friends looms over the horizon, she's at a loss to find a pony she can comfortably share her thoughts with.

Who is Scootaloo? Everypony knows about her present, but when it comes to her past there are as many different answers as there are questions.

Is she the love child of two star-crossed lovers? The last hope for the future? The child of a broken home? A mysterious figure fighting a war no pony knows about? Or is it something else entirely? Is she even a pony at all?

Twilight Sparkle decides to ask everypony in Ponyville and find out about Scootaloo...and the stories, rumors and gossip she gets will leave her wondering how the truth can ever compete with fiction.
