When the Mane 7, after being able to survive a good part of their life as friends in High School get into a series of events that concern their identity, possessing magic ever since Sunset Shimmer's appearance into the world, they eventually come across an evil that existed way before they were born (according to their ages). And this evil would harm others in ways they never saw before. This would be a harsh wake-up call.

Helping out an organization or two who would benefit them, all seven girls were getting the feeling they were going to be used. But they'd rather protect those around them than letting things go.

They keep three things in mind as they'd go on a journey they never went to before:
- For peace
- For Canterlot
- For friendship

As per tradition, after Flurry Heart's birth, Twilight's family takes a trip to their ancestral castle in order to introduce her to her great-grandparents. The rest of the girls come along too, eager to see the place. But when they get there; they learn strange rumors concerning the place and their friend's family. The large and foreboding place itself doesn't help either. Throw in a creepy caretaker, dark family secrets and hidden passageways, and soon they find themselves wondering if they truly know their friend as well as they thought they did.

A portal opens in the catacombs beneath Monster High. It would have gone unnoticed for decades if it weren't for a certain group of monster friends. Who knew that getting a little lost would lead to something this exciting. Now that Frankie, Draculaura, Clawdeen, and Cleo have found it they can't stay away. A whole new world is an exciting discovery. Let's just hope this doesn't get too crazy for our favorite ponies.

While walking by Fluttershy's house one night, Sunset hears what sounds like Rainbow Dash being tortured by a malevolent Fluttershy. When Rainbow Dash doesn't appear the following day, the girls decide to take a look at Fluttershy's house, where they find evidence that makes it appear that Fluttershy is not the gentle, harmless girl they know after all.

While having a picnic in the local park, Twilight stumbles upon an oddly placed rock with words etched into it "Who ever finds this chest must understand the powers it posses are joined with the chosen ones". Twilight uncovers the chest and finds six coloured jewels inside, she shows them to her friends where Rarity begs to have them. This goes down as you'd expect. When they touch the gemstones they activate something magical within that has spread to them. Now the six friends must learn to harness their new found powers to fight a rising evil.

While at the beach the students of CHS encounter Screwball, a young genius with a few loose screws, who has come to test out an experimental perfume she invented to bring out the Wild Side of those who smell it, and when Timber Spruce is accidentally over exposed to the perfume, the girls all go Wild for him in a very Bad way, so now Timber's only hope of surviving this crazy situation is with Screwball's help, yeah he's toast.
