When I joined this site back in 2014, I went by the name "Alc4n4tor", as it was my Xbox Live account name. My cousin came up with it, a portmanteau of my first name and "Terminator", the same way he'd come up with his account name. As time went on, I got tired of the name and the inability of most people to pronounce it (it's leet speak you heathens!), and changed my name to "Alc4n4tor Potatoman" while playing some GMod TTT. I eventually changed it to "The Amazing Potatomania!", though where that was too long of a name I went by "Potatomania" instead. That's what I went by here for a long time.

At one point, I purchased the game ARMA 3, and wanted a much shorter and snappier name to use with it, as it has a profile system where you can have a display name different from your Steam name. Once again taking inspiration from my cousin, who'd made his display name "Bishop", which had been taken from this dude who sold hotdogs near his house, I christened myself "Fiddler", after the nickname my high school science teacher gave me.

After some time I joined an ARMA 3 group who regularly organized missions together (they aren't a milsim group, fuck that shit). Because I was commonly found in the position of Squad Lead, a few of the guys jokingly adopted me as the squad dad, calling me "Papa Fiddler". The name stuck, and I adopted the name as well as the boys. For a while a few of us were in the habit of doing multiplayer Hearts of Iron 4 games, one mod we regularly used was the famous Equestria at War mod, which reminded me that the fandom existed after I'd slowly fallen out of it in the past 3 or so years.

Now, come May and June of 2020, I return to update everything and see how things have been in my absence. Perhaps I'll be here to stay until the site inevitably buys the farm.

Only time will tell.
