Well written, and this certainly works...but I was hoping for a clever twist rather than playing the Status Quo is God with mandatory lesson trope. I did like the reference to the fact that Lyra and Twilight knew each other before Ponyville, and the shout-out to Lyra being a Background Pony.
But still, I was hoping that she'd avoid the predictable ending of everything going back to the way it was.
Cute little story. Positive stories with Lyra are always good!

Yeah. I was hoping that it'd lead to a change where Lyra does in fact end up permanently doing something "more important" once in awhile, whatever she may think of it as.
Perhaps she could have a role along the lines of being an "Incidental Pony", if you're familiar with that fine story.

Great story! Just wish that Lyra could have been made a permanent alicorn.
Discord does have a way of showing how things could be.
Lyra makes a wish, "I wish my name was written in green everytime somepony spoke it!"
And so, Lyra Heartstrings ended up in "Background Pony", and died a terrible, horrible death in a terrible, horrible world. And Discord laughed, because he's actually still evil... as proven by Season 9.
And so Discord destroyed the other sapient magical constructs he'd created, snuffing them out as a toddler would with Legos he was bored with.
In fact, it was EXACTLY like that! Discord took them and threw them into a fire, pulled some of their legs off, fried a few under a giant magnifying glass... BECAUSE HE'S EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL!! IT WAS ALL A LIE!!!

It's one of those stories that I wish type of story so Lyra wanted to become somebody so Discord gave her that wish and she became an Alicorn Princess but the thing is she is not married to Bon Bon because she was never her friend in the first place ouch so she try to get back to her own timeline but then there was a monster attacking but after a couple of hours to defeated she realized that she wanted to be with bon bon means giving up her Fame and everything so with that she return to the original timeline and she didn't need to be noticed she's could have ask lol this was a pretty good story pretty late for the holidays
