...Damn it, just freaking show us the Whooves clan's TARDIS already. We ALL know that only Time Lords/ Ponies can make clothes/items that are *ahem* Bigger on the Inside.
This is what I wanted to show.... unfortunately...due to outside elements *cough* Family *cough* I had to post up a short and rough chapter....
Once again, I can't help but jizz in amazement at how awesome these chapters insist on getting.
Great job author, hope to see more of this badboy.
1841711 you mean Authors....
There are two writers

I mean that in the nicest way possible...
Still great.
Now then, what happened to Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle? I assume they stuck loyal with their sisters, but I'm sure that'll be addressed later in the story.
Good chapter i'm curious who from the alternate Equestria are on the the humans side. Like Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle, or characters like Trixie, Gilda, Iron Will, Flim, Flam. What side's did they all choose? One thing's for sure when the Mane Six meet Marcus group, their going to see some familiar faces that pretty much hate their counterparts guts now. I look forward to seeing how they will take and deal with it.
something i would like to see is that when this is over and if the humans win that the develop a potion that turned all of the human turned ponies back into humans.
1841667 While that would be "Gamebreaking" So to speak, as it is, if nothing else, good for running away, or else a rather high-tier bunker, I would certainly think that either a reference to it having been destroyed (possibly by Corrupted Celestia) or else unavailable.
On the other hand, In the regular equestrian, either Doctor Whooves is a normal equestrian Theoretical Physicist, or else a Time lord pretending to be a normal equestrian Theoretical Physicist. (With or without Chameleon Arc)
Anyhow, anything other than a minor reference to it would tend to dominate the story, with Doctor Whooves as a minor character (as opposed to a background character)
1841842
Most of the Native Equestrians are against the Tyrant, given that she is destroying a species. Only die hard Celestians stay by her side....sadly even this doesn't really change the tide when the scant thousands natives' voices are drown out by the several million voices of New foals.....
Gilda and Iron Will....
Those two have very special backstory.....quite sick really....
People are going to be sad when they hear it

Why do you want to know if the Doctor has a TARDIS..... Oh! Look muffins!
Wow! Wonderful! Stupendous!
Babs Seed, Scootaloo, Princess Cadence, Vinyl, the Whooves, Zecora, Spitfire and Wildfire are EFH operatives? So can we have a list of EFH operatives?
The EOH are evil in the alternate universe? Not surprised.

... I regret nothing.
Meh, I don't like the super-powered human... It just seems wrong that the only human that can stand up to them is tattoo with magic, made almost equal to Celestia, and for some reason was the only one tattoo'd? I hate the idea of a meta-human saving the world period.
He also seems abit OP'd, I know he is cut off, but he basically is a one man army.
1843833 You never review to say something positive....do you?
Its always something that gots to rile you up.
Okay, lets look at this way.
Ponies have magic, its ability can do anything from shielding spells to telaportation. A small amount of magical goop can forcibly change a human against his will into a pony, who then changes side in an instant. Their leader is almost god like being that can erase a human in a blink in an eye, A single talented unicorn can decimate a SWAT team before she is brought down or escapes. Its basically unfair, but that is war. War is never fair.
Instead of looking for the anti-magic stones or metal, which are rare in any case, I had them use runes.
Marcus maybe powerful, but only because he put himself through a painful process to get there. Marcus is the ONLY runic warrior in the entire story if that makes you feel better. That said, the chapter that depicts the Battle of Boston will be something else entirely.
1843833
Think of Marcus as like a magical version of Captain America. A super soldier prototype that the only reason there's one of him is because of reasons beyond their control, which given how this story begins might be the exact same reason: death of the process' creators.
In any case, what did you think the humans were gonna do? Short of developing a sure fire way of blocking magic, the obvious solution to fight back WOULD be to find a way to give humans their own magic, and to fight the powerhouses like Twilight or even Celestia, they'd need to be able to give them enough power to be able to go up against them.
1844182 I only review positive when it doesn't have anything to complain about, and also has something unique that I find interesting. Also to get a positive review it cant be super popular, I don't think I could say anything that hasn't been pointed out a thousand times on Background pony, positive or not.
1844678 That's the problem with one man armies, it's less humanity against ponies and more one guy against ponies, with humanity kinda being the prize. The best parts of Anti-conversion bureau, and even conversion bureau is that it has several different factions, many motives, and a complex war that leaves room to imagine other things going on.
This whole universe seems to revolve one guy, or at least all of america. I understand it's a flashback, but in a story mostly flashback you should give more context then a few scenes involving him. Which also points out that there is an actual story in the present that is put on the backburner. I can read a story about a superhuman, but only one done in a unique way, since everything else has become a cliche.
Sorry my topic wobbles sentence from sentence.
Oooooh, more backstory.
Popcorn for everyone lads!
So frikking kick flank, i loved how brave and awsome you made Scootalo in this chapter.

1862629 Yummy...
1862604 I have a lot more where that came from.
Our courage is paramount, and we will fight till the bitter end.
An example?
Add in the Russian Speech of Heroic Badassary...
Yeah.... The Ponies stand no chance.
Civil engineering? Thats pretty smart.
Quantum mechanics? Thats pretty damn smart.
This fic -
I have to say. This is quite interesting.
...
MOAR! NEEDS MOAR! MOAR FOR THE MOAR GOD!
Really liking it so far, though I agree with Faren that you need to keep an eye of Marcus so he doesn't become some superhuman gary stu. For now though he's fine, just keep an eye on making him too powerful.
Using phrases like this do not help in easing ours fears:
For one, it's inconsistent. A de-powered Luna can take a bullet to the head and it not even scratch her skull and yet Marcus can break Celestia's legs "like kindling"? Kinda undermining yourself there chief. If Marcus used a mixture of her own strength and his own, I could understand that as it means he's turning Celestia's own considerable might against herself which is pretty believable. Him simply snapping the legs of this goddess/demi-goddess because of "LOLMAGIC" is not a good way to do this.
Second is his shield spell. He can block not only Celestia's magical attack but a blow from Luna meant to kill with her knowing full well he a shield spell without the shield faltering? So far all you've given Marcus is magic with plenty of upsides but no downsides like a limit on how much he can do. The whole "tapping into Equestria's magical field" to power his spell is too broken as without any stated limitations it means he has vast reserves of power at his command, literally an entire world's worth of it.
Another thing I must ask is how does he channel and direct it? I mean the magic has to be channeled somehow in order to enhance his abilities (there needs to be a limit on that too) and since he is obviously not a unicorn, he has no convenient method to do this. His tattoo? Again how? Last I checked simply throwing your will towards a tattoo doesn't mean you get to control it.
Marcus aside, I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Unlike a lot of other TCBs, reading this story is actually fun. Here the ponies are the aggressors and yet we know the invading ponies are under the influence of something (hopefully not enough that they aren't responsible for their own actions as that would be a cop out) and yet we have pure (who are actually flawed and freely admit it! THANK YOU!) ponies including Celestia and Luna who are utterly appalled and disgusted with the actions of their interdimentional peers and actually aim to get off their butts to do something about it!
As stated above, reading this is actually fun and enjoyable. In many other TCBs they can be good, but are overall betrayed by having so many characters act incredibly OOC (usually Celestia) and tend to have the ponies as this perfect species who can do no wrong.....NMM is hardly ever mentioned.
So thank you and I hope you update soon!

Marcus stated himself that he could of made the Mane 6 into glue if he still had the ability to do so. So there is a downside to Runic magic. That will be explained later on.
Runes was something myself and TB3 worked on for a long period of time, if you remember what was said in chapter 3, Runes are very dangerous to use. Runes actually hold something of importance to this story, there is much more about it than we have given out so far. Given that we didn't go with the whole 'oh look, magic doesn't work on this piece of metal or stone' or something, we wanted something different. Runes was just that. And given that Runes have, through out history of gaming and story telling, is powerful piece of magic.
Marcus can still be ponyifed if he isn't careful, so he is not immune to the potion itself, and Celestia has said it herself, Marcus could still be killed if she choose to do so, but she doesn't because of the amount of power she has to put into it just to do it. Runes are an equalizer at best, but not a sure thing.
To Celestia and Luna, Marcus is a danger to be watched, given that he can harm them. Killing them is still questionable. To any other creature, he will be hard to kill unless they throw an army at him to wear him out. He has both passive runes and active runes: Passive being enhanced strength, immunity and absorbing most magic (Which in turn is used to power said runes), increased healing, and other small things. The only really active use of runes he has is both Runic shields (to stop both magic and physical attacks) and Runic armor (Which is what protected him from Luna's attack in Chapter 3). Both are two different forms of protections for Marcus.
Given that Humanity is on its last leg, anything that can help is to be welcomed at this time. Runes are a game changer in this story. I have already listed how Equestrian forces work in a forum. Combat Effectiveness and really, when faced against that, its sort of overwhelming and understanding just how we are getting our butts kicked.
Super GaryStu is not what we are shooting for, Marcus can still get his butt handed to him, but has done this in order to even playing field just tad bit. Remember, the Celestia you are reading is not a genocidal killer, but a worried leader. The two may be the same, but they fight on a whole different scale due to how different they are. Marcus's time in Equestria is far from over, and he still has his own trials to get through before he goes back.
1915309
How is that a downside? I mean actual downsides that are actual risks. Also don't take too long in explaining the downsides of something like this because until you do, it really does make him look overpowered. I mean why didn't you have Luna explain the downsides of runic magic when she mentioned it was forbidden? I mean that would have been a perfect segway and it would have made the warning that much more effective.
We've seen that human weapons can hurt them to a degree and Celestia wounded herself superficially in her flight, So I can see him wounding them being ok. Having him being the only being capable of killing these avatars of their world's very will would be a deal breaker. Stealing their power even more so.
Do you really think that makes for a very good character? Someone who literally needs an army to be thrown at him just to wear him out first before killing him?! I can see a character being a badass and kicking butt if they have magic on their side, but no character should be that overpowered. At that point the story crosses from being a story to a wish fulfillment fantasy.
Way too many pluses and not enough minuses. When writing a magic system balance the good with the bad. Unicorns at least have to concentrate when casting magic and have to worry about overheating their horns. Immunity to magic? The way you stated it hints he's utterly immune to magic (and yet the potion still somehow works ) and he can absorb spells and reflect them back at will. There need to be limits to go with those as well as the downsides. A limit on what he can absorb and what he can reflect. I mean the shields didn't even flicker with Luna's blow and it was meant to kill.
From what you've said he's leaning more towards the Stu end. Hears all the things he has going for him:
Needs an army to tire him out
immune to magic and can absorb and reflect said magic
can break the bones of a divine being with little effort (said divine being survived a Mach 3 crash that created a lethal pressure wave with no broken bones so this is a big one as well)
Actually upon reflecting on this, I take back what I said earlier. Marcus is really freaking close to breaking over into God-mode Stu. Trying to counter all the ponies advantages (ones that you overplayed in that thread) has resulted in a character that will be hard to empaphise with if he can't be hurt or even killed successfully by anything short of a goddess having to unleash her full potential on him.

There is just no pleasing people is there.
I can't even explain a portion of what you want without giving away a lot info. There is a reason why certain things effect the princesses. I can't say anymore than that without giving away more backstory, which is still in the works by TB3. We already have a certain info about it, but don't want to give it out yet.
And overheating? Did you miss the sizzling of the runes activating when Marcus used them? There are negatives, but, you know, you need magic for them to work? It will be pointless if there is no magic around, then they are just tattoos. So no, they are not active all the time and only when magic is thrown around.
And the overpowering issue? If the Tyrant appeared before the army of humans and all but obliterated them, you wouldn't say a word, but in comes this human that went through a painful process of etching ancient and powerful tattoos, and kills a small platoon or army or at least harms a suppose deity, you throw a fit???
Come on man.....Give the humans a break. If you want to see how one-side a fight is, then check the link in the story and see how one-side magic makes a fight when used correctly. Just wait until the third chapter and you will see how the Our TCB world works.
Oh yeah, one more thing.

What did you want mindless praise or actual feedback? I'm being level with you, mate.
Why yes, because one is a deity and the other is a freaking human! One is supposed to be powerful and the other is like us! Even a marine can't destroy an entire army alone, so why shouldn't I point this out?
None of this stuff has been told to us before! You never stated the runes needed spells active before becoming active themselves. If that's so then why didn't they light up the several times Twilight used her magic on him? She cast several spells at him directly and indirectly. And yes, I did miss the overheating part because in the story (reread this scene about three times) it doesn't read like that at all. They simply light up when he attacked. Unless he's feeling physical discomfort from this, it's not a downside. A mere lightshow and suddenly he's surviving stuff blows from creatures capable of launching shipping containers through the air with a single kick.
I mean I can understand being frugal about info, spoilers and what not easily ruining all suspense in the story, but there are some cases where you don't want to sit on that information for chapters on end. There's withholding information for the sake of the story and then there's times where it's needed and the author decides to sit on it even longer. Heck you don't even have to spill the beans on why runic magic is bad all at once, you could give some very bare bones examples and leave it at that for latter development. As it is it's been two chapters already and there's been absolutely no mention of this.
Uh dude, I know. Because that post was a partial response to my post. If you really want my opinion on that say so otherwise I'm just gonna leave it off. (Lowers my chances for ranting and going of on tangents) However just because you've given humanity a tough time doesn't mean making the MC into a freaking magic Superman is a good idea. If anything it makes it boring since it effectively kills all suspense as well as our ability to empathize with him. So far we can due to the rather shared ordeal of "Humanity just got butt-raped and systematically erased by a pretty princes pony and her horde of cuddly equines" but going much further would start causing things to break down.
Random Dude #1: Oh no! Marcus is under attack! We should help!
Random Dude #2: Um.....why? The dude can kill armies without getting tired. Why should we even care?
1917150
lol....oops... I forgot all about you.
Well...sadly to say, you caught me at a very bad time...let just say i took my frustrations out on you. I have some things pop up and well...you decided to walk into my sights of my ire....
Sadly, what i wrote earlier has a point. I can't say anything about runes that can explain half on what you wanted. They are tied directly to the story and doing so would give away most of the points, especially why the runes can hurt Celestia while impacting the ground at mach 3 don't really do much. Its story related.
Marcus will explain why he can use the runes and the positive/negative to the mane 6. Once again, most of it is story related and can't be said.
Marcus taken on a small army is nothing...but there has to be something present before that even works out. You know....magic?
You can demand all you want, but if it is story related, i can't say anything. I barely released what i can, and be mysterious about the rest. Sorry man, no matter what you want to demand, most of what TB3 and I write is directly link to main plot points. Almost everything in the story is related to one another in some way.
You just have to wait.
1917364
When did I ever demand anything at any point? All I'm doing is pointing out that until you get around to explaining those rather important points, it makes your character look like he pulled an Eleventh Hour Superpower out of his ass.
The magic runes that can somehow trump divinity comes right the hell out of nowhere with the rather weird explanation of Zecora and Sparkler can do it no prob. Just....what? No dark magic, no super rare and special ingredient that makes this one case special? How does Sparkler even know how to do this? Shit how does Zecora know how to do this? Because what? Sparkler is from that kooky family and thus have all sorts of strange knowledge? Zecora as a zebra shaman who by default know how to use this? If they can do this to one dude why the flying hell couldn't they do it to everyone else?! Gah! The explanation leaves more questions than it ever answered.
As for runic magic being forbidden, I'm gonna make a stab in the dark about why: Because aside from a few downsides, it's one of the few things capable of hurting/killing the princesses and/or giving regular ponies the ability to grab potentially more power for themselves thus conceivably becoming powerful enough to overthrow Celestia. *coughkingsombracough* I may or may not absolutely hope that this is dead wrong.

Here's the link to what I meant.
Form of: A TVTropes link!
1917637
lol.....
Like i said....
I can't say anything without giving away plot points.
Thats how linked most of the story is. I can literally not tell you diddly squat with explaining a score of other things that have yet to be mention.
All i can really say is this: Runes, the Princesses, Zecora and Sparkler rune skills, and Lyra are all linked together in a massive backstory, all will be explained by Marcus and Celestia. That is how big this is.
All will be explain...all will be explain....
Lol All your minds will shatter upon revelations on their true forms....
Honestly, this is the first Conversion Bureau fic I've read, and I love it. Now I want to see more... Time for the side story... Can anyone give me links to more stories like this one?
1970018
glad we (TB3 and myself) were the first TCB story you ever read. Some of us in the Anti-Conversion read Chatoyance(?) and feel left out. I tried to take a middle ground, add elements and realism to our story, where as other stories are more "Blargh, human smash puny pony!" or "Join the herd, your stupid weapons are useless against our cuteness! Lay down and be assimilated!"
Our story is human centered, but with ponies sympathetic to the human cause and fight by their side, so its not completely onesided nor is it only the PER and HLF, both are human made groups. There is more info in the story that we tried to point our and explain.
Be sure to stay tune, new chapter is coming up.
TCB: Not Alone is a particularly moving piece of writing, along with the new story TCB: Conquer the Stars which is the sequel to it.
TCB: Wrong Universe Is a general parody where Celestia makes the mistake that the Universe she is in that the humans are push overs or simply alone in the galaxy.
TCB: Humanification Bureau Mirror World, Humans trying to save pony kind through transforming them into humans
TCB: What would really happen? A realistic out look if Equestria did arrive on Earth, but with out the expanding barrier or Insane ponies attempting to convert all humans
TCB: United We Stand A similar story to our own but vastly different. MLP 4 Generation attempting to induct Earth into Ponydom, but finds Ponies already there and against the Solar Princess. A Crossover with MLP Generation 1, Transformers Generation 1, and GI Joe: A Real American Hero
TCB: Entropic Karma Discord has the last laugh.
1970112
Thank you very much. I already read a few of the stories and I'm liking them more and more. I'm even thinking of writing a one-shot or something... Thank you again.
1917637
I just chalked that up to Celestia not trying that hard in fighting him and figured that those runes were made specifically to fight her.
I just hope this masterpiece doesn't get deleted like "Not Alone".
Great story man! I look forward to the next chapter.
2052376 why'd it get deleted?
1917725
I have seen the true form of Giygas's attack, and my mind did not break. Bent into a knot, sure, but not break. Do your worst.
1917637 I did.
1915886 I agree with Jace. Also, so there IS magic on that earth. So the rune's enchantments on the runes were just to kick start his magic. Why can't he fire blasts?
1844678 negatus mysterium
1843833 That kind of power would ripe an ordinary mortal to pieces mind, body, and soul. One-Man-army-of-destruction, that guy. He's probably a demigod.
1917637 I bet Marcus is a demigod. Not first generation, but someone down the line. Probubly Ares or Zeus.
Humanity's got dragons?! Celestia, you in trouble now.
if i was drinking tea i would be doing a comical surprise spit take to how awesome this is.
Uh, oh; Miskatonic U? Oh, dear. There's some very bad juju in there. I just hope Renee and Co. know what they're in for.
