We needed action like this. We've gone a bit too many chapters without some earth action. It's a relief to see what they're up to back there, especially after so much focus on Equestria, even though the bulk of the action is supposed to be at Earth. AND we get to see Gilda and Iron Will being involved and of use. Nicely done!
Best of all, no Discord. He's been waaaay too overused and overly praised despite being remarkably infuriating in this story.
Well, color me supriced.
good job

Wat?
Are you talking about Shimmering Sigil.
Seriously? How?
3881894 yes
When I imagine the humans and their allies fighting Xenolestia, this is the song I have playing in my head:
"Shut it Trevor. You two, with OTs pistols, keep an eye on the elevators. Any pony that comes ALONGN here, take them down." Michael said, pointing to the Tsumerai warriors, then turned to two of the unicorns. "You two stay with them, cast the silencing spell so nothing can be heard. The rest of us will go up the stairs and take the Portal Station."
You misspelled along
....Shit. Redskin, I'm sorry I wasn't around for editing last night.
3882113 eh...
Tvtropes will make up for it.
Get to it!!
3882136 I CAN TOTALLY DO THAT
3882141 don't forget Multiverse!
3882146 Oh damn. Nearly forgot that!
Hey, Reddy-boy? In case you haven't noticed, my username is ThatClosetBrony, thankyouverymuch.
3882228 better?
Throughout that whole fight I wanted a cheat code to be activated.
3882299 what? Magical unicorns wasn't enough?
3882275 Yes, very much so. Thank you.
3882075
And when Xenolestia is defeated, this will be playing in my head.
3882314 Well a Minigun that shoots explosive bullets with Moon Gravity activated would have provided the lulz.
Why i have the feeling that this will end like stracraft 2 wings of libertation?
3882801 like what? I never played that StarCraft piece.
3881673 Yeah, I agree.
I don't want to keep saying it, but I disagree with Discord...completely. And he's one to talk, taking over the world and turning it into something I'd see Tzeentch paint in his off time. {Seriously, he's a Greater Daemon of Chaos. Why are they listening to him at this point of time?}
Not to mention, he's been so serious and done nothing much but berate Celestia for everything. This isn't the fun Discord I know and love.
It's kind of sad really. I was hoping this was going to be 'canon' Equestria versus 'fanon' Xenolestia.

You know, as much as I love seeing action once again, I just realized something. The barrier in TCB stories really suck!
Now, I know its supposed to be some sort of plot device that convinces that the xenophobic ponies are evil or some crap like that because it always expands and such, but we miss so many chances to see other things as well!
Who wants to see a battle take place in the middle of winter for the Scandinavian/Russian areas? :D
Thinking of sending your precious little ponies across the ocean to invade the Americas via ship? Well, our Wolfpacks will deal with those!
Equestria manages to conquer a country and subdue said country and the humans in it? I think not!
3883133 I agree. It'd be nice to see a change for once, but I still love this story.

Unlike other stuff. I try to keep the insane ponies from simply going out and try to convert everyone.
They wait for the barrier to push back. But this is only after learning that go head to head with human military.
So, they wait. And convert stragglers.
At least that is how I make them out in my head. Maybe I didn't protray them right in the story.
3882864 first they arent too much mens and well they are fighting against countless forces (even they gain more soldiers by converting them, i take it like infestation zerg)of the tyrant and she is like kerrigan in a certain way, corruptep for an evil force and bring extintion to the humanity. And finally that i was refering was the last mission where everyone resist the attacks in their final base hoping for the best.
3883334 way
Way
Way
Waaaaaaaaaaaay off. The ending is not that, so no worries.
Just wondering, is this one of the Conversion Bureau fics that's a misanthropic cynical attempt to make the human race into bastards who need to be murdered, proclaim ponies are superior behind any sane reason, and has a vaguely pro-Nazi agenda? (Basically every CB fic that tries to take itself seriously.)
Or is it one of the good pieces of fiction that points out the incredibly stupid idea behind genocidal holocausts\forced conversions, how insanely OOC the main cast is from what we've ever known of them, and isn't written by an insane sociopath? (Alot of other fics on the site or the anti-CB that are more likable in every way.)
3883352 both?
3883352 I mean is that it touches a bit on both. Given what I wrote is that no one is walking away clean from this war without some sort of sin they committed.
But I tried to stay within the alt -TCB realm.
3883348 well at least will be a last epic battle?
PD: i was comparing SC2 with this because it have too much. Similarities lime the attitudes and missions, sorry if i bothered you.
PDD: play that game is tottally awesome!
3883403 trust me, the final battle will be a curve ball.
3883392 Well, I like good fiction, just not the ones that seem to have a despicable agenda behind it, like The Chatty One seems to impose. The ponies getting their comeuppance for both their hubris and atrocities, even if humans can be just as evil as well. I've pretty much stayed away from fics set in that universe because its reputation proceeds it.
Also, at nearly 200,000 words, that's a pretty big commitment you and everybody else too. Good job going far.
YES!!!! Let the Blood shed begin!!!!
3883545 ...
I got nothing.
Who are these guys?
3883608 yeah... Did you not read the author notes...
3883658 I don't have a computer.
I barely have the phone I'm using to do this now.
3883730 boredom?
I kinda wanted to see everyone's reaction to Luna and Discord showing up. But this chapter was good too.
This chapter was really enjoyable, but Trevor was ... really stretching my suspension of disbelief. I mean, it's hard to buy that the human defenders would allow a guy who is that unstable, in such a way that it requires him to be physically restrained from completely blowing missions, anywhere near an operation of this gravity. I get that they are probably pretty desperate, and apparently keeping this guy in the unit helps the esprit de corps of the rest, but seriously. Other than that, no complaints.
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh this is so awesome!!! I can't wait for the chapter. So awesome!!!!

To be fair to the author, I'm sure John Walker Lindh had issues that nobody saw until it was too late. In fact, many soldiers did, but nobody noticed the warning signs, as Vietnam proved. Yeah, we've gotten a lot better at noticing the signs, but again, to be FAIR, they're in the middle of a war with the fate of the world literally in the balance against a foe that can use magic, so their primary focus and even secondary focus isn't gonna be on how sane their friends are 100% of the time. Now if he starts snapping at his fellow humans...then we've got a problem, for sure.
The Tyrant has arrived. Things just escalated big time.
3885007 I'm not talking about them not noticing or overlooking that he's nuts, and could in the future do something bad. Nor am I talking about them not noticing or overlooking that he seems like he'd be pretty atrocity-prone. I'm complaining about them overlooking that he's blatantly compromising missions unless physically restrained. ("Not noticing" isn't really an option on that one.)
You say there's a problem if he starts snapping at his fellow humans. But what if he snaps against ponies in such a way that he gets humans killed? That's exactly what happened in this chapter, only he was physically stopped from doing so on multiple occasions.
3886677
Well, this might be an emerging plot point quickly coming to a head.
3887107 True.
3884158
He's there because Franklin, Micheal, and Lester's value outweighs the potential risks associated with Trevor, and their a package deal.
3888243 can you at least tell me I did an accurate job on them?
3888243 They'd leave humanity in the lurch if Trevor was taken off active duty?
3889035
If the chips were down, probably not. But here's the thing, the cups weren't down here. The portal station, while important, was not vital to humanity, so Micheal and Franklin could turn the job down without betraying the human race.
You have to remember, they aren't soldiers, their mercenaries. They set their own rules and conditions, and the UN and PHL have to negotiate terms.
That said, this chapter made Trevor seem more stupid than he'd likely be in this situation. He's insane, not stupid, and he's a crafty fighter and theif.
