The long trial was over, and Twilight - no, Dusk Shine's finally out from under that terrible shadow. Poor little Skyla and her auntie could move on with their life. Skyla's murderous grandfather was behind bars, and Dashville was simply beautiful in the fall!

And all Dusk Shine needed to do was stay out of the public eye, and never catch the eye of 'King' Sombra's secretive confederates. And make sure that she stayed in the local deputy marshals' good graces.

How much trouble could a slightly witchy woman and her orphaned niece get up to in a quiet Applelachian town like Dashville, anyways? Even if they were hiding in witness protection from their incarcerated drug-cult kingpin of a patriarch.

All her life, Adagio has presented herself as the very image of perfection. She had it all: beauty, charisma, a formidable mind and the power to bend minds to her whims. One fateful night, she finds herself toppled from her position of power, struck down by a force even greater than her own. Now, she must confront her failure and admit that she may not be as perfect as she claims.

Set in the same continuity as two other stories, Requiem and Repose, but knowledge of neither is required.

Meanwhile, Adagio Dazzle is acting like the modern day Ebenezer Scrooge, right down to a visit from a 'Christmas Conscience'. Strangers from another world living among humans whether by choice or not might just have want the other one needs in order to truly celebrate. Will they work together, or will their history prevent them form truly enjoying the holidays.
