When Fluttershy received her certification as a fog specialist, she only wanted a plausible excuse to write off the expenses associated with her ground-based house on her taxes. However, when an accident in Cloudsdale sends a blanket of industrial-grade clouds rolling towards Ponyville, Fluttershy suddenly finds herself in charge of coordinating the response, mostly because she's the only fog specialist in the area. She learns to accept herself more than she thought would be possible. Upon investigating, she discovers a gem that grants her the ability to fire various amounts of energy beams from her horn; a feat even powerful unicorns had to master before being able to do. Though, everything comes with a price as an equally powerful unicorn wants to get her hands on the gem and will do anything to get it...

But, something is bothering Soarin. For the longest time, he has a huge crush on Rainbow Dash, ever since she won the Best Young Fliers Competition two years ago. He's afraid to tell the mare how he feels about her. But Soarin tells himself to stallion up and tell her how he feels. Still, he's too nervous. He realized that confessing his feelings to the mare he really liked was going to be hard for him. But, he tries.
Will he finally tell her about his feelings? Will Rainbow return his affections?
