Tacitus has just moved to Ponyville and is trying to go on with his life. All he wants is to go on without being hurt anymore than he already has. But things change when he meets the residents of Ponyville, who see his sadness and are determined to help him. He doesn't want their help, but they won't give up easily. It's time Tacitus learned what real friendship was.

This is my first story, and it's the first part of a series I'm planning. Any and all suggestions and criticisms are welcome. Also, as a side note, Tacitus's cutie mark is the Eye of Horus, which I call the Eye of Horsus so that it fits in with the pony world. Anyway, I've rambled enough. Enjoy the story!

Everyone has that one friend that they've known since childhood, that one friend that they'd do anything for, that one friend that means the world to them. For me, that friend was Luxurious Locks, the mare that runs the most prominent hair-care product company in Maretropolis. We were the best of friends since childhood, and whenever one of us was down, the other would be there to help out.

But I guess some things don't last forever.

Luxi has disappeared, and she's been missing for over a month. To make matters worse, a deranged mare named the Mane-iac has been attacking the city with no clear motive.

Little did I know that she was looking for someone, too...

In the park is the famous haunted mansion, a really spooky place to go, but AJ and Rainbow Dash make a competition, to see who is the bravest person in Ponyville, so they decide to get in, as they are followed by their spooked friends. And after getting in they realise, they can't get out, and as Rarity goes missing, and certain shadows follow them, they realize this is no prank, someone, wants to murder them.
