The day here in Ponyville hospital has been rather… slow. Dash is beside you and the head aches from your head injury are gone. Granted Dash has been rather clingy since your injury. But that’s okay in your book. Rainbow Dash stretches and yawns immediately after.
“Hey as much as I want to be beside you right now, I really need to do something.”
You chuckle a bit in response.“What? Am I really that boring?” you ask her.
“N-No! I was just going to get a book from the library.” She states matter of factly.
You laugh and kiss her lips, feeling her soft fur tickle your lips. You place your hand in her colorful mane, gently stroking her mane as she deepens the kiss. Savoring the feeling of her body being pressed against yours, a few moments later you break the kiss and look deep into her eyes. A smile adorns her lips and her beautiful rose eyes shine with happiness.
“I will be right back okay?” she says softly as she hops off of the hospital bed.
“I know Dash,” you grasp one of her fore-hooves and look into her eyes, “I love you.”
She leans up and plants a soft kiss on your cheek, “I love you too.”
With that she turns around and walks out of the room. Alone once more you sigh dejectedly and look to your right… just wishing she was there. You know she won’t be gone long, but you can’t help but feel oh so lonely when she is gone. A couple of minutes pass and your heart begins to ache a bit. You clutch your chest and think about her smiling face. It helps.
“I’m back”
You look over and as you expected Rainbow is holding a Daring Do book in her hoof.
“Daring Do: And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Pony?” You ask.
“Yep” Dash replies.
You shiver.
“Oh come on! It’s not that bad.” She says.
You can’t help but shiver again.
Rainbow scoffs before placing the book on the bedside table before hopping back onto the bed with you. She lays her head on the pillow and gets comfortable. You wrap your arms around her once more.
“Would it sound sappy if I said I missed you even though you were only gone ten minutes?” You ask Rainbow.
“Yes. But that is what I love about you.” She says.
You smile and kiss her, soft fur tickling the sensitive nerves of your lips.
She smiles and nuzzles you, her soft cheek rubbing against yours.
Closing your eyes, you focus on the rising and falling of her torso and her breath washing across your face. It makes this moment so very peaceful and beautiful. You give her a gentle squeeze and she sighs.
“I love this.” She says
You chuckle and snuggle closer to her.
“I love it when you hold me”
“I love holding you Dash”
Dash chuckles “When did we get this sappy?”
“A little while after we said our first “I love you”” You respond.
You can’t hold back the smile forming on your face. Her cyan face displays the happiness she feels at the moment. You can’t help but kiss her forehead again. She smiles and kisses your forehead. You reach up and ruffle her mane a bit for that.
She giggles “Knock it off!”
You smile and giggle with her. As you fill the air with the happiness you both feel. You both share a couple of tender kisses adding to the joy of the moment. You can feel the warmth radiating in your heart as she fills the air with her beautiful voice. Rainbow leans her forehead against yours.
“I love you” She says softly.
You look into the eyes of your lover. Her eyes sparkling with the depths of her love for you. You lean in and kiss her lips for a few seconds and say “I love you Rainbow”.
Those three words always warm your heart. There is just something about saying “I love you” that makes your heart fly to new heights. Whether it is the look of joy on Rainbows face or the burst of happiness that fills her eyes as you say those words, but those three magic words mean the world to you and Rainbow Dash.
As Rainbow snuggles against you, you think about how magical the words “I love you” are. When you and Rainbow first shared your first “I love you”, you two were in the privacy of your home. She was trying her best to remain composed and confident and you tried to stop yourself from stuttering.
You managed to say “I love you” without stuttering and she immediately tackled you, nuzzling your neck as she hugged you while assaulting your face with a barrage of kisses. That night the two of you shared your bed the first time, you actually had her resting by your side. It was the first time you had somepony to hold in your arms as you slept. It was the first time you felt a warm body pressed against yours instead of the pillow you used to hold. The first night you felt happy.
You sigh at the fond memory and look at the pony in your arms. Like always she has a smile on her face, her eyes are closed and her breathing serves to relax you. Her beautiful form in your arms makes life worth living. You do not know what you would do without her here beside you. It is quiet moments like these that make you feel content and have purpose in life. You live just for her and that is all you will ever live for.
Rainbow’s breathing soft and steady now. Indicating she has fallen asleep in your arms once again. You lightly chuckle and snuggle closer to your mare. You softly kiss her and close your eyes hoping to dream beside her as you always do. Sleep comes easy to you as you focus on her breathing and nuzzles as she attempts to get closer to you. You drift off, knowing that when you wake up she will be beside you and be there to say how much she loves you.
