However, while messing around with one of the walls in the dungeons he finds a book, far nicer than any other he's ever seen, and written by an author he doesn't recognize despite all the years spent retrieving books for Twilight from all over Canterlot. With Twilight out of the castle for the next few days, and no desire to continue looking for hidden passages, he decides to give it a read. The knowledge contained within will change him forever.

This story is a sequel to Dying Flame

A year has passed since Spike's furnace went out, and Twilight was forced to leave her adoptive brother in the care of Al'Mal'Gorath. The complete and utter silence regarding the fate of Spike has all but driven the alicorn into the depths of despair, only her friends support allowing her sanity to remain steady.

Deep down, Twilight fears what may be waiting for her - she fears that her brother, Spike, died a year ago and nothing but a corpse remains. But most of all, she fears the kind of monster Mal'Gorath could have shaped him into.

[This is another random idea I had, except this one's going to play out like an anime]

Spike Ashe, he is what should be considered as a normal boy in the middle of his first year of high school. But like most of the stories and comics he reads, things are never how they seem.

Spike has powers, little things like having skin as hard as titanium, having amazing speed, agility and strength, the ability to grow wings and shoot fire from his hands and mouth and being able to sense the essence of life itself if he tries hard enough.

He's had these powers since he was very young and has always known how to use them. But because of his powers he has secluded himself from others. Fearing what might happen if his powers were found, and not for his own skin, but for his family. As such he has a reputation of never speaking and even coming across as cold.

But like all things, his life changed drastically when he witnesses a girl about to be run over by a car.

One too many accidents results in a falling out between you and Rainbow Dash, the mare of your dreams, and your friendship with her lies on the brink of destruction. Twilight suggests a vacation to clear everyone's head. Could this be your last chance to make amends, or will you spend the rest of your life filled with regret?

Alternate Universe for wingless Princess Twilight. Might just change this out, because it's a pointless change, tbh. :)

Cloud Kicker's life has been going just about perfectly. She's got a good job, two beautiful girlfriends, and she's never been on better terms with her friends. She's even getting more time with her family now that her cousin is serving as Princess Twilight Sparkle's personal bodyguard. She made mistakes in her past, but now all of that is over and she's earned her happily ever after.

Or at least, that was what she thought. Little does she know that her new life is about to start getting very complicated.

Lyra Heartstrings is a mare who often goes about life with her head in the clouds. Always dreaming, always fantasizing about what could be. She sees her friends and so many others enjoying sharing their lives with that special someone, and wishes that she could as well. To find that special someone she can be herself with and not be afraid, even if that self is a less than socially graceful.

When a chance meeting with a stallion—who is often too laid back for his own good—occurs, it brings about that possibility she's been dreaming of. Music was always her secret passion, and now, it seems that the song of her heart might get what she's been wanting.

Or are things too good to be true again?

Things sure have changed for Scootaloo, now that she can fly. Rainbow Dash is finally giving her lessons, her secret hasn't come out yet, life is good.

Except... Rainbow Dash isn't teaching her everything, and instead keeps telling her to pair up with Rumble for some reason.

Not that that's a problem; it's not like Rumble doesn't want to hang out with her, even if he does already have a girlfriend. A girlfriend with bat wings, that is. And with the upcoming holiday just for special someponies, that girlfriend is starting to get more and more clingy, even though Rumble claims there's more to it.

Turns out Scootaloo isn't the only kid in town who's... 'complicated'.
