By feeding Twilight all of his material, he can profess his love for Rarity through another - another that she might find more acceptable. And perhaps win her heart that way.

When Spike gets into an Accident Rarity attempts to rebuild him as Spike bot, but Twilight refuses and demands Rarity let her do it, after a short fight Twilight's magic mixed with Rarity's tech turns Spike into a living virus and quickly drives him insane, it's up to Sweetie Bot to keep him at bay while Rarity and Twilight try to find a way to contain him.

Twenty-eight years have passed since Twilight has taken over for Celestia and Luna and now the night she dreads is here. The Gala is always boring but it's far worse when none of her friends are able to come since they all have responsibilities with even Spike saying he's too busy. Despite this, the Gala will change how she sees one of her oldest friends and give her the happy ending she had been looking for for years.

I'd do just about anything to help my faithful assistant and dearest friend with his problems, but this time I may be out of my depth. Something's wrong with Spike... very wrong, and I'm not sure I can fix it on my own. I don't know what's going on, but I'm worried about him. Some of the things he's been saying lately... they scare me.

So her parents decided that it would be a good idea for her to see more ponies that summer, resulting in them sending the filly up the country to a place called Magic Falls to live with her Great Aunt Dash. Little did Twilight know what the town held in store for her, and what friends she would make along the way.
