When the School of Friendship receives a new Diamond Dog student, Gallus, Yona, Smolder, Sandbar, Ocellus, and Silverstream put their lessons in practice by quickly befriending him and giving him a warm welcome. But it's not long before it's discovered that there's more about this dog than he's let on, and the six students are getting dragged right into the thick of it...

Luna has assembled her task force of former villains to enter a realm where only villains can dwell, for the sake of thwarting Eris' plot.

Twilight decides to organize a party for this task force at the School of Friendship, to which Luna agrees. But during the party, Spike notices Tempest and his wings begin to act funny.

Twilight and Luna both become concerned by this, and Spike starts to wonder if something is wrong with him. But how will everyone react when they learn the true reason behind Spike's behavior? Including the one who's causing these feelings?

After realizing Smolder has not been attending class at the School of Friendship for a day, Spike tries to get to the bottom of her personal family problems.

Author's Notes: I know I said my last fanfic was the last one, but this one is very short! It's about a theory I've been having! As far-fetched this theory sounds, I believe it could work in the main series!

After Spike finds an abandoned egg, his instincts kick in and he does everything to protect it.

Every couple months or so, Gumption visits Ponyville to sell off a few gems. His secret to finding them are three Diamond Dogs he raised as pups. The only reason anyone knows about this is the Royal Guard spotted his home and the three during a routine patrol. Their orders were to observe but not engage unless necessary.

Even the slightest changes in the past can have a significant effect on future events, case in point:
what if Spike was never raised by Twilight Sparkle? What if he was raised as a bonafide apple on Sweet Apple Acres, brother to Big Mac, Applebloom, and of course Applejack? What if his arrival as a hatchling had inadvertently prevented the deaths of Bright mac and Pear Butter?

On his way from visiting Zecora he finds a black gem that he decides to eat and grants him the power over shadows and darkness. Pranks and chaos ensues as he uses his new found power's to have some fun on Nightmare Night.
