Sunny and Hitch have both been caught up lately, with friends, with duties, training; you name it. They've hardly had anytime to hang out lately. Most ponies would simply not worry too much, but it's not quite that simple for these two. After all, it's difficult to spend time apart when you might be catching feelings, right?

As a timeless immortal being, I never understood death and loss. I was willing to make friends and play nice, I even fell in love. But then one day I lost the pony I loved most, and sought to escape my grief. It went fine for a time, until somepony restored magic to Equestria.

Hitch was having a pretty normal day, until a strange creature appeared on the road and transformed him into a mare. He kept going on about somepony named Fluttershy, before vanishing and imploding a few buildings. Hitch misses the days before he was a national hero in constant peril.

Pipp invites her friends over to try Surströmming for the first time and film a viral video. Fermented fish is one of her favorite snacks, and it's renowned for its pungent odor. It goes exactly how Pipp had hoped.

Older, yes. Wiser, perhaps? If he had learned anything, he wouldn't be there. Offered a new chance to visit Equestria, he takes it, not understanding just how much it has changed since the first time. At least he lacks wings or a horn.

The prequel is not required or even suggested. This is a new story in a new world. It is only by the magic of authorship that one of the characters happens to be the same, but even they have been through quite a bit that was never written about. Come on in fresh, it's quite alright.
