Years after Spike finds a changeling egg, he starts a new, happy life with his girlfriend and daughter.

Artemis, husband of Luna and father of Moonlight, is out on one of his midnight walks when comes across a little pegasus colt named Moon Dust who is badly hurt. After finding out what happened to the little one, Artemis takes him in and vows to take care of him. Follow the Lunar Family as Moon Dust adapts to his new life and tries his best to trust other ponies again. Hundreds of years before the legendary Starswirl opened his eyes, a moment of change shook Equestria without even being noticed. Such is the way of the Changeling hive.

A new brood has hatched, unlike any other the hive has seen in generations: Changeling princesses, destined to lead the hive in a new direction that their mother could not. But the path is not easy for any one of them. Pony settlements dot every corner of Equestria, spreading thin the hive's hunters across the vast hunting ground.

Faced with the possibility of a divergence, a splitting of the home hive across Equestria, the princesses are thrust into the savagery of the world around them; their hive, their world, even their prey, show no mercy. To keep their kind alive, the princesses have no choice but to unleash their wrath upon those who would challenge them, lest they lose their hold on their family.

For the past few weeks, Terramar has been going to a dance club in Ponyville just to lay eyes upon and hear the voice of a very chatty and friendly kirin mare. Her name is Autumn Blaze, and she's all the young hippogriff can think about. He wants to ask her out, but he's not even just friends with her yet. Well that changes today. He's going to find his courage and break the ice... somehow.

But even if she had guessed correctly on those two outcomes, the conversation that followed was unexpected. Especially his views on ruler-ship.

A group of pony radicals try to summon a demon to overthrow the princesses. Instead they got a human. They don't know what a human is.
