The third place winner for the Iron Author speed writing contest at Everfree Northwest this year. I was honestly so shocked and honored when I heard. Everyone’s stories were so good! I can’t wait to see everyone post theirs soon.
Speaking of that, I want to edit this story more since I think I could smooth things out a little. But I don’t want to make everyone wait until then so here’s the unedited version submitted at the contest. I’ll leave the story complete but a second chapter that’s just a better edited version might be out soon.

Aww I know who's he talking about it's Fluttershy
So apparently Discord is having some problems about some feelings so he asked Princess Cadence for advice about this whole feeling and somehow he actually listened what she was saying about how feelings are when you care about somebody and I know he is caring for Fluttershy a lot probably more but he didn't want to lose it but I'm sure she will never lose her and with that he actually think her and basically sent her back to the Crystal Empire this was a pretty interesting conversation between those two keep up the good work

That was a cute little interaction between these two. Needless to say, I liked it a lot.

Congrats on the Iron Author contest!
Remember, the eldritch horror finds you just as incomprehensible as you find it. Brilliant portrayal of Discord grappling with the strange pony concept called "love," and major kudos to Cadence for taking it all in stride. Congrats on bronze; you did a fantastic job with the emotional sincerity and character interactions.
Really, the best part of this is how she doesn't make a big deal out of any of it, not even when she gets asked about what happened later.
Some things you share with others, and some things you keep just between you. I'm happy to see Cadence understand that. Kind of balloony, you know?
This story was my favorite of the top entries; the characterization is so likeable and the dialogue pops.
You also read the fic very well—articulate and emotive. Great job on placing!

I love that Discord struggles with complex mortal emotions. It would make sense considering how detached he in the past would be from that sort of thing. This was wonderful!
