This story is a sequel to All-American Girl

A story set in between Books I and II of All-American Girl.

A lot of news has come out of Canterlot lately: the destruction of Fillydelphia and the razing of Cloudsdale. The attack on Canterlot itself. Princess Celestia declaring war. That was bad enough.

Now, with the news of Princess Luna's illegitimate child - an alicorn, no less! - and her intent to marry the father or abdicate, what does that say about the stability of the nation? What does that say that the lunar alicorn chose not to love a pony, but a human? And what does that say about the newly-invested Princess Luna II (who insists on being called Sterling) herself?

Then there's the news of Viscountess Lyra Heartstrings, now somehow permanently a human and never to become a pony once more. Why did that happen? Could it have been prevented? And was it stopped...by humans, no less?

And those rumors, which seem to be on the increase: That Celestia herself has taken a human as a lover. That Saddle Arabia intends to declare independence. That Nightmare Moon survived the attack on Canterlot...and that Chyrsalis didn't, and now something worse has taken her place.

As the months go by and the sapient peoples of both worlds come closer to the end of 2047, a whole lot of uncomfortable truths may come to light...

...and one just might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

As a bit of a corollary, Prince Blueblood and his wife Princess Champagne Dreams has scored exceptionally high amongst the Royal Family, a move that royal-watchers are saying has done much to rehabilitate the prince’s image from his earlier ‘wild foal’ days.”

.......if only they know what we know:twilightangry2:

For the first time since the Times-Herald has run these polls in nearly two hundred years, dissatisfaction with the Royal Family has reached an all-time high of five percent.

Bwahaha! :rainbowlaugh:

About the Falklands Island War back in the 1980s

I've read that the island's population was only about 5,000 people & either side could have given everyone on the island $1,000,000 & a first class plane ticket to anywhere in the world for less than the war cost them.

The Iraq war is probably going to be the same way. It would have been cheaper to just BUY the damn place or hire the Mafia to kill them all

8315447
Hey, that 5% is dangerous. If they're not careful, it could reach 6%. Imagine the chaos then!

8315495
There's also the fact that the war violated the Monroe Doctrine. By law, we should've gone to war against the UK on Argentina's behalf. But as you can see, that didn't happen.

I look forward to more of this.

8315423

I'm not worried. In Shinzakura's stories baddies always get their just desserts, no matter the delay.

8315505
The Monro Doctrine was never a law or a treaty. It was basically a unilateral declaration by the USA that (in essence), we owned the Western Hemisphere & would fight anyone that said otherwise.

It dominated US foreign policy for about 140 years. After the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962), it went away & hasn't been heard from since.

8315447
Unfortunately, I'd be willing to bet that those 5% are all asshole nobility like 3/4 of the Bluebloods, and thus could be a real problem...

8315841
I'm aware of that. And my choice of "by law" was a bad choice of words on my part. Still, per the Monroe Doctrine, we were obligated. Of course given that the UK is one of our closest allies, no way in hell was that going to happen.

“Wowzers! It sounds incredible. No side effects?” the pegasus asked excitedly.

“Ask your doctor,” the earth pony corrected in a voice that clearly sounded overdubbed.

"Buy some apples!"

It's funny to see interludes like this because they tell things from an in-universe perspective.

Noticing that Luna Jr is quickly pushed as a legitimate heir...

And that the crown is equally quick on trying to sweep how Luna Sr accidentally created her by unwilling proxy under all the rugs.

...Yeah, not going to work. And ALL the anti-pony groups are going to have a field day on Luna trying to write off...

Well, let's not beat around the bush anymore, her rape of another woman, as unfortunate but a result of true love conquering all in the end.

Hell, I as a reader KNOW there was no intent of inflicting that on the poor woman, and I still got queasy writing the above sentence. :pinkiesick:

And how the vast majority of ponies will no doubt will genuinely accept that explanation if not outright be happy for the two being so 'blessed?' Just going to add more fuel to the pyre.

...The last straw, if you so will.

Poor, poor Luna. She always manages to pick THE worst times and places to try to stand her ground on her own happiness, doesn't she? :pinkiesad2:

Princess Luna II (who insists on being called Sterling)
I imagine she likes it a lot better than being called Junior

Heh, and even Chrysalis' last gasp turns out to be just as ineffective as she was in the end. Wonder if they were to mention to Dawn that the new changeling leader is male that she'd immediately guess that it's Blood Armor? And poor Moondancer. I bet Luna DID mean to wipe ALL images of Sterling from the net, but had no idea how pretty much impossible that would be.

How widely known is Sterling's existence at this point in the story? Is the secret already out and Luna's trying to control the damage? Or is she preparing for a future announcement or the inevitable leak?

8325483
Given that this is taking place not long after the attack and that Luna has made a public admission - one that was covered on an international news program - what do you think?

Good that people are referring to Sterling as Princess Luna II, considering that it creates some distance between her as a pony and as a human. Otherwise, everybody would know to look for Sterling Kirkland.

The question of male Changelings comes to "just how thorough is that change? " Arguably, their gender is whatever they want and subject to change without notice.

8325919
That doesn't apply in this story. Here, male changelings are the vast majority, have negligible intelligence and initiative, and are at the command of the few females, who are either princesses or queens. Now, if they are born from a flutter queen rather than a changeling queen, males do have intelligence and individuality.
Furthermore, all pepsis are technically princes and princesses.

Furthermore, all pepsis are technically princes and princesses.

To clarify (because it was intentionally obscure in-story), pepsis stallions and mares are respectively are changeling prince and princesses and have the same command authority as a pure changeling princess, arguably more given that the one surviving changeling princess (Gaster) bows to all pepsis.

8326091
So you belong to the "The changes are purely cosmetic. EThey affect neither innards nor genetics " school of thought?

If I was the Flutterponies, I'd totally change my appearance (Like Thorax did, although why in the name of Pluperfect Hell he chose THAT shape is beyond me )

8325441
But she destroyed the chocolate! :pinkiesad2:

8326205
Well, Dawn changed hers (she originally had a deep purple coat, but now it's white, in honor of her father.) As for the Flutters, they were taught to be proud of who they were, so there is no reason to change.

8326205

So you belong to the "The changes are purely cosmetic. EThey affect neither innards nor genetics " school of thought?

Actually, I'm just quoting this story. Didn't you read the chapter were Pip re-encounters Queen Imago, and descends to Dream Valley?

She tried not to feel a little jealousy at seeing her cousin’s youth restored by the Elements; Moondancer was actually six months younger than Twilight and now Twilight looked as if she were in her mid-twenties once more.

You know, I think DJ should had commented her envy on Rarity's restored youth. Rarity is now biologically younger than her :rainbowlaugh:

8326983
That's what Book II is for.:rainbowlaugh:

8327028
DJ is going to be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry :rainbowlaugh: . Well, the effects of the elements on the Mane 6 started vague as no effects were stated to have carried on at first, but now we have confirmation that they recovered their youth, but didn't become alicorns. Why they didn't stayed alicorns anyway?

8327343
They never were alicorns. The alicorns were magical constructs created by the Elements

Well, this should even the odds and brown some terrorist pants in the next air battle.

8343862
Yeah, but I'm sure the Changelings, Nightmare Forces, and Purehooves may have their own surprises in the works.

Well, to use wings to control wings: absolutely logical.

Love the idea for the new cockpit

Adversary makes sense for Fallon, though X-planes seems more like the convenient-to-Area-51 China Lake.

I'm trying to remember the book I read about dolphins flying spaceships with flipper input.

8347078
Yes, but in the future of AAG, Area 51 has been turned into a Joint Base (or in this case a Joint Aviation Testing Center.) More along the lines of New Edwards from Macross Plus, if that makes sense.

Typical teenager not knowing what the term tongues meant. She went right into the gutter. I hope Celestia and Luna can find the right balance between work and life fast becuase it could be going to hell soon.

8348776
Even if she does know that usage of "tongues", which given how many languages she apparently spoke before, I wouldn't doubt, it still sounds naughty.

And they really do need to get out in front of their messaging here - if it comes out that both of the Royal Sisters are dating humans, it'll create at best a minor political crisis. At worst, it'll totally destabilize the Equestrian government at exactly the worst time.

And knowing how this story tends to go, Murphy was an optimist...

I wanted to remark something:
Way in the future past the advent of smartphones, the princesses decided to make a scene in a mayor touristic attraction. Following the syllogisms, we can bet that Sterling's identity has been compromised.

Fair warning, Shin: I desperately want "Luna Jr." to be a thing and will push my agenda in the comments of each subsequent chapter.

8354373
Ok I know you and him have the whole debate about Little Lunny but is that rainbow dash picture and the line

"Your a thousand years to soon to challenge me." Pops in my head from my OC Ace as a comeback.

I really like the way your story includes Southeast Asia! I'm from there, and this is the first time I've seen Malaysia or Singapore in a ponyfic!

Really the royal family should just invest in spray bottles. Give Rarity or DJ a good squirt every time they start getting snippy with each other. Rarity might need a Super Soaker to get the point though. Using Dinky and Sparkler like that was an INCREDIBLY low blow and she's lucky Silver wasn't there to hear it...

8363740

Frankly, I´m tired of DJ being a walking stupid ball for Rarity: everytime they got closer, Rares goes full bitch. She is supposed to act as a Bearer of Generosity, for Faust sake! :ajbemused:

8363815
She is...just not when it comes to DJ. She is likely sincere for wanting what she feels is best for Cerise. Plus, she sacrificed her emotions about DJ in order to heal Lyra.

It's just DJ is a huge blind spot for her, and everyone knows it.
