Level Dasher

When an integrated changeling has the opportunity to make it big in Applewood as a fill-in actor, it seems like the perfect niche. He’ll be getting jobs left and right!

...Right?

A story based in the Integration Universe originally conceived by Minds Eye.

8082360 Thank you!
8082436 And thank you! I'm glad I was able to uphold the fics' integrity. Hopefully this will only be the beginning, and more people will join in the fun! :pinkiehappy:

Pfft. Maybe a few more lessons before you let the next ones go, Celestia. :rainbowlaugh:

This review is brought to you by the group, "A for Effort".
Name of Story: Hitting the Big Time

Total Score out of 10: 8

Pros: The structure was cohesive, the story itself was pretty good and the plot intrigued me. It's one of the reasons I elected to review this story, after all. :raritywink:

Cons: I felt as though it's a bit of a continuity error for there to be a 3 month time stretch before Understudy realizes the issue. Wouldn't he have realized this would be a problem when they decided on a name for him? :unsuresweetie:

Additional Notes: Hey, look! It's my editor's editor! Small world.
I suppose that's what happens when we're all mostly writers, the system just loops on itself eventually.

That's a fair point, and seems to be the biggest concern. If that's the case, I'll take it! Thank you!

No problem, and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has to put up with Dreams. :trollestia:

I knew that name would be a problem when I heard it, ugh. I enjoyed the premise of the story, but also find myself longing for an changeling-based actor story of decent length.

All in all, good job.

And yes, 8234382
, I know I'm a pain in both of your plots :pinkiehappy:

Upon reading the description, I expected to see more actual acting shenanigans (Possible sequel? *wink wink*), but I have to say, this is a hilarious story nonetheless. I think that if I was an AI, I'd be now writhing in pain and cursing paradoxes :pinkiecrazy:

Maybe it's because I'm not acquainted with Minds Eye's Integration Universe, but I sort of missed some explanation of why Celestia works as the changelings' employment counselor. Furthermore, some description of the place where Understudy met his agent would be great.

All in all, this was a great read to start the day. Thank you for that!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
In terms of what you 'missed,' yes, reading Minds Eye's original trilogy is recommended to clear up some of the missing context. And his agent is his brother. :derpytongue2:

You're welcome!

And his agent is his brother.

I'm aware of that, after all, aren't they all brothers? What I had in mind were the surroundings where that happened, that's what I was missing. Was the changeling meeting happening in some hive? Or were they still in the Canterlot Castle? :derpytongue2:

8328950
Aaah, I see. They were still at the castle. That also would have been cleared up by reading the original trilogy, but thank you for pointing that out. :twilightsheepish:

Good story and nice bit of humor.

Considering all the changelings look the same before the show "change" of them. This is funny to read!
