I love your storys
sooooo. if im getting this right. the translation spell is basically slowly rewriting English into pony? because that part of the story did not feel right to me as it was written.
may the healing begin
on a side note I wonder if tim will teach them about pokemon
I thought the italic parts were no longer he case, here (as in: in most Western countries and several more).
awesome chapter i see this is going to be taking a interesting turn.

yes and know it is rewriting English into pony but at the same time Tim is also learning the langue.

Nah...it's like the spell is translating pony to human, but now instead of replacing it with human, the human word, and ponish word can now be heard at the same time. At least I think.

The impression I got was that as Tim is grasping their language, the spell doesn't activate and there is no auto-translation taking place in his ear.
This is a relatively smooth transition, so it appears. The spell only skips the words he understands well, and that is how he only thinks of it as sounding a little strange. The full connection of the exact sound to the rhythm of the known words isn't quite written in his mind yet.
It's a rather subtle yet interesting little aspect.
A nice update indeed. Not that it's a bad thing but I didn't think Twi and Cadence would've started on their task so quickly. I knew Tim was going to forget he was 'in the buff' as soon as he got out of bed. Maybe Citrus will get her wish and he'll forgo wearing most, if not all his clothes when at home with only his herdmates around. I'm glad to see the 'herding rules' spelt out a little bit. I wouldn't mind being purvey to Cadence and Citrus' conversation. I jotted down a few more thoughts that occurred to me as I was reading. Forgive me if they're not in proper comment format.
Try and say that fast five times.
I think the order Citrus served the tea says a lot. A small sign that Twilight is a welcome guest, Cadence, maybe not so much. I was happy to see Citrus' remarks at the end of the chapter almost confirming the thought.
Did you mean he looks at Twilight? His comment is directed at her not Citrus, no?
Uhh, I hope they aren't thinking about having foals. It's too soon since the 'reconciliation' much less the entire herd's relationship itself. They need time not just to heal but to simply enjoy each other (and not just in the bedroom). The "incident" really cut into the bonding time the herd would've have been spending together. Doing things like Tim helping Citrus at her shop or Silver teaching Tim 'how to stallion' by giving him a packed lunch to share with North Point at her office. The mundane activities that help strengthen the bond between herdmates.
That's about it. Thanks again for the update. I look forward to reading the next chapter when it's ready.
A mad what?
Punctuation at the end.
I don't know if it's taboo for women to make the first move, but it's just not done. That's because, for the majority of human existence, women have bore the brunt of the consequences for sex. Society evolved around the biological fact and it became common sense for women to receive multiple offers and then sift through to find the best ones. In other words, not only the most physically attractive, but those who demonstrate behaviorally that they'll stick around and provide for the woman and their shared offspring. AKA marriage.

I'd wear clothing if given the choice, mainly because the male's dangly bits are extremely sensitive and delicate. You think stubbing your toe is painful, try getting a crotch shot from a low table's corner... I'll wait while that phantom wince goes away...
Also, ponies all have fur and I'm willing to bet that houses would be cooler than normal human homes. Sans-clothing? No thanks, I like not shivering in my own house.
Kinda surprised his toes haven't been stepped on since he's been there. (Again, another point for wearing clothing, or in that case, footwear)
A few grammatical errors, but otherwise pretty good. I would mention the errors, but it does look like someone has already taken the liberty here already. :^)
I don't know why, but when I read this story, I keep thinking that the herd is lucky that Tim does not have the rigid sense of honor that the Japanese are known for. If so, I would think that the herd would be forced to understand what harikari is, and how honor can mean severely different things between different species. I keep thinking that, while Tim was restoring the honor of the herd, it was at the expense of his personal honor, leaving him adrift.
But that is just my dark thoughts. Well written story so far, love the worldbuilding.
Pondering things as I'm wont to do a thought occurred to me regarding Northpoint's potential career change. I'm sure she's going to enjoy cartography but I think she'd also be happy running the logistics of a shipping/delivery company. This could be an idea Tim brings up given his experience being a truck driver. Maybe he sees somepony pass by pulling an empty cart and comments how many times he drove 'dead miles' because someone didn't plan the routes/schedules correctly. (Drivers don't get paid as much; if at all, when pulling empty trailers or without a trailer.)
About time he nutted up and spoke his mind. I've been kinda pissed at him ever since North started degrading him at night.
Cadance is one of the worst things in the series, as a person shes okay, but as a princess of 'love' shes a right cunt.
Ha! Princess of one-type-of-love needs to expand her field!
You know, I was completely wrong. This isn't like Xenophilia. It's even better! It somehow wends threads of HiE, the show, and cultural elements of herding animals, smoothly and seamlessly, even while the characters are butting heads. It's an amazing adventure, and I'm totally hooked to read more!

And that is part of how she earned her mark remember, planning "shipping routes" for filly guide cookies so routes didn't overlap and every pony got a fair chance. Getting lost in the city is what got her the mark, but her love of maps, of mapping and planning... BUT... tell that to her dad.

Actually, I think a Japanese human might have integrated even better. The Japanese society is FAR more about group strength over indivual desire, and that is nearly the core of what is happening in this story.
I think you meant to put Citrus and not Cadence
I've gotta ask, are ponies THAT insular, that even with all the other races of this planet, they just don't understand what being an alien means?
Glad to see they're on the path of forgiveness, even if I flatly refuse to believe Tim wouldn't be holding even a small grudge
oh wonderful, hes inevitably going to get with his rapist and the one who allowed that shit to happen will get to feel good about themselves. shitty ass story

ever hear of "mutual combat"?
i would also remind the audience that this is an Alternate Universe. if every story was the same and every story fit the stereo type, how boring would this site be? isn't that the purpose of "fiction"? to try out alternate variables and "see what happens"? each story and each author is as unique as a pony and their cutie mark. in fact didn't discord mention something about a "multi-verse" at the gala?
just sayin'.
Definitely a great story so far. Love the effort you put into a human having to adapt to herding and that herd not being perfect.
