I wonder if Celestia could do some political maneuvering and grant Tim the title and rank of Ambassador for Earth? As it stands, he's a vagrant and ward of the state at best or an illegal alien at worst. I'm thinking that Ambassador's Legal Immunity card could be played should Blueblood (or other nobles) decide to have Tim ejected from Equestria for some stupid reason. Tim doesn't have a leg to stand on should somepony throw the lawbook at him right now. Heck, I'm not sure if he'd even be allowed to marry-- unless doing so grants Tim Equestrian citizenship?
Closer to home, or new home, Tim's in for some more culture shock by what Citrus is telling him. I just hope Tim is actually listening to her as she gleefully plans out his life for him, heh. A new home, new mare, and apparently a new stallion to meet as well.
I expect many cultural shocks and ignorance ahead.
Citrus is amazing. I'm liking Galileah too, she's pretty cute. I have a feeling we will be seeing her again.
Moar please. This is fun.
Almost sounds like she's bringing a pet home XD
blueblood does realize his title holds no more authority then a duke right? he isn't a crown prince, his children have no conceivable chance of ever sitting the throne, therefore his idea of taking away his rights with a word doesn't play out as he lacks any power to actually do so.
It'll be interesting to see how he adapts, especially with another guy romantically and sexually involved.
Hmmm Griffin... I like!!!
As always I personally find the story better than the clop but even so I did find it well done here with the rest.
Speaking of wich, this kind of not much plot story aren't my cup of tea. So out of here I am. Too bad, it looked like some interesting world building.
totally amazing chapter I am wondering just how the pony's around Canterlot will handle seeing Tim?
7790594 Sorry to see you go. Plot is the primary reason for this story, but yes, they have sex. That being said, about your video, I fully understand what is going on. Issues brought up by such actions will be addressed as the plot progresses.
7791348 Well then, you've rushed things a lot then. Both in and out of the story, we shifted very fast from "Do I really love him?" to "I wan't to have him, NOW!" for Citrus and from "Do I even find aliens atractive? Would it be akward? Let's move slowly, I need to get used to the idea" to "Let's skip the whole dating process, I agree to have sex with you" for Tim.
I am already not much of a fan of stories with love and romance as the main focus (and in this case about the only subject ever discussed by your characters), but as I said, you showed an interesting world building and the early chapters did look like it would adress the cultural differences between Tim and the ponies, the fact that xenophilia is something usually frowned upon in human societies above all and Tim's feeling about all that.
And then you shifted gear and jumped to "they are a couple, she bring him into a herd, they have sex and polyamorous relation.", and seemingly forgetting any of the previous issue raised by the situation.
So yeah, not much what I am looking for in a story, but unless you were secretly writting this to please me (I doubt it, somehow ), don't bother to much with it. Your writting good and I'm sure you'll have fun writting it and a lot of people are enjoying it. So keep it up!
7791458 Now I'm at my computer, and can respond fully. Without giving away plot points, the "oh my god she's an alien and wants to have sex with me" line has been done. Xenophilia did that superbly, so did many other stories. So...I'm getting it out of the way. Polyamory is uncommon in human society, but common in Equestrian. So, it will be addressed, hopefully different than other stories. But I'm really big on working on the culture clash that Tim is going to have to experience. Tim hasn't had to deal with the reality of polyamorous human x other creature happening yet. Love and romance is going to be a big part of the story, but so are many other ideas that my pre-readers and I have been kicking around. So...expect more clop, expect more being added to the herd. And remember, the ponies around Canterlot have no idea that this tall biped is among them, so there's that. Remember, the name of the story is Herding Insticts, so....that's going to be a central theme.
If it's not your bag of chips, no worries and have a wonderful day. If you want to keep reading, go ahead. I'm not writing this story specifically for you, but I do like input.
...Celestia accepting his decision to leave kinda takes a backseat to him meeting the griffon lady.
the reason i read HiE is for the authors take on culture clash this is great work sparky keep going

Me too.
Near the end, why did citrus and Tim seem flustered when celestia announce them mare and colt? I know you explained that marriages in this universe are more for the nobles, but I didn't think they would mind that much.
Also, it's a real shame they can't have an offspring.
7802341 He's surprised because this is all new to him. She's surprised because of reasons I'll get into in further chapters
7802493 curses! Once more I am in need of a time machine. Guess I'll have to stick to old fashion waiting.
Already hoping that Galileah will join the herd later
Loving the story so far, though. It's nice to see some interaction and bonding between characters before they ask jump into bed.
Hi Sparky, I like what I've read so far. I enjoy works where love/romance are given more weight for story advancement. Having said that I do feel some character development seems rushed but I like how it's been explained. Citrus and Tim have known each other for a year; at least, and were oblivious until their feelings were pointed out for example. I particularly like how Citrus explained that Polyamory is more than just sex. I think I see what you did there; nice.
I chuckled at that line. My dear Citrus you were in for a pleasant surprise.
Well, I certainly hope this 'isn't it' for this story. I eagerly await the next and future chapters. I've tossed you a like and a follow and my seat belt is fastened as I'm expecting a wild ride.
7834575 Rapid character development has been a common criticism throughout my stories. I'm working to address it. I promise I am. I also love building a world with these characters, and going in my own direction when it comes to the world at large. I haven't decided the total length of this story, but it will likely be fairly long, since I haven't even introduced some characters that will play pivotal roles in the story. I hope you enjoy the ride as I've been enjoying writing it. Expect to see a lot more of Citrus and the herd.
I want moar... but I can wait. Also, nice job. It's really hard to get me to stay up till 4:30 on a school night. You show excellent workmanship my fellow!
Speaking from experience, if a girl moves this fast in a relationship or if they are as obviously emotionally unstable as Citrus is, the relationship is going to crash and burn because thay are without. a. doubt. absolutely bonkers.
7881750 what do you want to bet that that one downvote was an absolutely bonkers girl?

Blueblood and Cadence never acknowledge Auntie Luna. Why is that?
8149147
Please don't tell me that's a SpongeBob clip - I can't stand the yellow, idiotic crybaby with an extremely annoying laugh.
Can't stand him at all - how is he so popular? His 'laugh' can cause headaches, he doesn't know how to do the simplest of things, he cries whenever he gets hurt (instead of saying 'owowow' or similar), he's incredibly weak, and he annoys the other characters. How does any of this equal 'good subject for kid's cartoon show that adults can enjoy too'?
Ugh.

could be because of her banishment and its been a old habit.

Well, you've got a point if you're talking about how he is now, but back in the day he wasn't nearly as annoying. The show was seeded with all sorts of clever jokes and subtle references. I remember it being quite funny in my childhood, and somehow even as an adult it's still funny.

It seems less like culture clashing and him mostly just tagging along with whatever Anypony tells him to do, even if it makes him a bit uncomfortable. His agreeableness is through the roof! That's what I've gotten from it anyway.

I never liked bluebluud......always so stuck up......i keep expecting to see him described w a whole forest of redwoods sticking out his backside lol
I am just so hooked on this story.....i already feel so invested in tim and citrus and how their lives (individually and as a couple and also as a herd) play out.
Is it sad that i kinda envy tim......if only i could meet someone who cares bout me as much as citrus does tim....some guys get all the luck lol
