I realize that it's hard to find a good synonym for "leaves", but you may want to think about somehow rewording this anyway. Seeing the word "leaves" three times in such a short span disrupts the word flow just a little.
I like what I'm reading, though.

I love this line. It add to a story when the slang and colloquialisms are representative of the world. And it's sooooo right for pegasus to ask that, instead of " What's wrong?"
