It was very difficult to get that song out of my head while writing this one.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who broke down laughing at Cadance's dirty talk.
It just came so out of left-field in that situation that I just busted a gut and had to stop reading until I could regain enough composure.
This was a nice little vignette of young, slightly awkward, love. Not something you see very often, but it was endearing to have it presented this way.
This was sweet. Really, this is honestly fantastically sweet.

It's a shame that short romance stories in general -- clop or not -- are so rare. Clop one-shots seem to almost always be fetishy, and it'd be nice to see more romantic ones rather than restricting romance entirely to longer fics.

They're rare, but they exist and are wonderful to read. Which is part of the reason I enjoyed this so much. It paints a beautiful picture of Shining and Candace before they were married. It also explains part of why Twilight was so oblivious to their getting married. For one she was a kid, and two most of the bulk of their dating most likely happened after she went to stay with the princess.
I certain put this story up there with A Royal Morning by Poptard, The Cookie Jar, and To be Loved both by Lean Mean Spleen Unclean. It does a wonderful job of showing Shining Armor and Candace as two individuals who are in love. Where as the stories I mentioned mainly focus on how they are as a married couple this story does a fantastic job of showing them before hand.
I would gladly put my trust into you to write an epic tale of their courtship. To write about how she would occasionally sneak into Royal Guard academy to see him, or even how they began to become attracted to one another. I hope to see such a wonderful tale in the future, and I do so because you have shown us that you have the skill level needed to keep the characters in character, but also pull them back to a slightly more frisky and immature place.

My headcanon for both of them is that after sometime the wedding their sexlife becomes more mature, but before that? Exactly what this fic is. Young, loving, sometimes comedic intimacy which playfully tests their likes in basic levels. All the more kinky stuff comes way later, now it's just hilariously bad dirty talk.

I find complaining about people writing whatever the fuck they want to be hilarious. Like, you're actually trying to tell the authors what to do in order to cater to your specific needs! I was thinking of this song.
I don't usually read stories marked "mature" on this site, because more often than not they have no plot and are just smut-smut-smut. However, yours is one of the rare and wonderful exceptions, a very well-written and mature (as in "mature for your age") story, and one of my favourite couples to boot. I only wish that the story was longer, so that we might see what happens after Twilight Velvet and Night Light return.
