Natural cataclysms, warfare, pollution and many other woes finally broke the back of the world.

Even the magically advanced alien race of sapient ponies could not do a thing.

It was too late to change anything, when they breached the border between realities for the first time of its history.
They hoped to find a new world, full of exciting discoveries, but instead, they were forced to helpessly observe the demise of the planet that was a home for billions life forms over the course of a vast ocean of time.

But when the last group of scouts was evacuated, they brought with them someone, who, strictly speaking, couldn't have possible exist by now. An alive human infant girl.

Now, with the last surviving member of an extinct specie, it's up to them to do all they can to provide her life that her parents didn't have a chance to provide.

Far to the north, in the Crystal Empire, Princess Cadance has a ceremony known as the blindfold wedding, and ponies come from all over with the hopes of finding a mate. Somehow, Princess Cadance has her ways and means, and her blindfold weddings have a curiously high success rate, given what they are: two strangers who have never met getting hitched with one another.

Furious Funnel, a tornado wrangler by trade, decides that it is time to do something else with his life. After saying goodbye to his bosom companion Braeburn, he heads north with the hopes of finding a bride. He might not get what he wants, or even expects, but he’ll get exactly what he needs.

Celestia and Luna have moved the capitol of Equestria to Ponyville and have moved into Twilight's old castle. Spike has been summoned back home at the behest of the royal sisters but for what he does not know. But if Celestia asked Spike the Guardian of Equestria...he will answer.

After forgetting to go grocery shopping for Spike to make dinner, Twilight decided to do the next best thing: go to Hayburger. Her, Spike and Starlight know exactly what they want, but there's some complications.

Which leads to Twilight being mightily confused over pastries falling from the sky. But as her friends are happy to point out, this isn't the first storm of it's kind in Ponyville.

In fact it seems unusual things raining from storm clouds is an annual event. Cupcakes being the least worrisome of objects to rain down upon the town.

Throughout her time at Crystal Prep, Twilight Sparkle had been ignored or scorned by her jealous and well-to-do classmates. She could only rely on her pet dog Spike for companionship.

The Friendship Games, once a way to bring the two schools together, devolved into a cutthroat competition for glory. A competition Principal Abacus Cinch sought to win, even if it meant blackmailing her top student.

Seeking to distract herself from her loneliness, Sparkle sought to study the magic of Canterlot High School. Her experiments, however, wreaked havoc on the games, and brought her the scorn of Sunset Shimmer, who saw the human Twilight as a dangerous nuisance.

In a last-ditch effort at victory, Cinch and the Shadowbolts pushed Twilight into unleashing the magical energies she had collected.

But in their attempt to abuse a force they did not understand, the Shadowbolts unwittingly caused tragedy. But through this tragedy, will the Shadowbolts and others come to understand the value of a single human being? And will Sunset overcome her grief and try to prevent another one?
