Twilight Sparkle has been sentenced to exile, she has no memory of the last two or three days. But there is evidence that she had a meeting with Chrysalis and tried to well, kill the princesses. Was she tricked? Was she totally aware of what she was doing?
Disowned by her family, friends, and country; Twilight makes her journey to the one person who can explain things to her. What she finds isn't exactly what she expected though....

Twilight messes up badly while the rehearsal wedding was happening. So badly, her brother, her best friends, and most of all, her mentor leave her.

And Twilight is devastated.

Blinded by heartbreak, shock, and even anger, Twilight wonders if the ponies she thought cared about her really do care about her. Luckily, before she could slip, a friend arrives and gives her a little help.

Well it's not actually a sequel. Here is a collection of short stories and histories detailing the life of Alternia, a changeling queen impersonating the life of Princess Celestia. These are the stories of the ruler under her mask.

Reading the main story: Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen is a requirement if you don't want to be spoiled or confused. I will try to provide background information when I can.

For readers of the main story, there are basically no spoilers if you've read past chapter 8. Enjoy!

Part 2: Pony Tails

Nearly thirty years in the future, the Mane Six have married and settled down to raise families of their own. When Andromeda, Twilight's daughter, rediscovers a familiar time-traveling spell, she makes it her mission to fix what was once unfixable. The spell goes wrong and she and the other sons and daughters of the Mane Six find themselves in the past (before the events of Twilight's alicorn coronation). Separated after the jump, they must all find each other in time before they are discovered, or else they risk changing history and even erasing their own existence.

(NOTE: These kids are not shipping children. They have dads, but even I do not know who they are. None of the fathers will be named or physically described in this story because the focus on my story is on the children. Please respect my decision of neutrality by not "guessing" who the dads are. The designs of the children were influenced by their mothers and nothing else. Thank you all for understanding.)

Author's notes: I've been working on this story for over a year. I'll admit it contains a lot of elements that appear commonly in other Sunset stories -- this is just my take on it. I'll try to give credit where credit is due -- although nearly every idea in this story occurred to me independently, others have actually published stories using many of them first.

The thrust of the story is to take material written for ages say 10-13 (i.e. the EQG movies/shorts/specials) and age it up to make it more dramatic and meaningful. Probably my favorite thing to write was the conversations that must have taken place, both in the human world and in Equestria, but that aren't depicted in any movie or book.

Full Disclosure: Sunset's friends play their usual crucial roles in her redemption and growth, but this is a Momlestia/Lunauntia story too. And there is no shipping. Romance isn't Sunset's priority as she crawls out of the darkness of her former life. Yet.

I had to add the AU tag after Forgotten Friendship came out. Up until then, this story was fairly canon-compatible. Now, it diverges a bit.
