Twilight Sparkle has been through quite a lot during the course of her young life. With her friends she has re-discovered an ancient magic, saved the world from Nightmare Moon, and imprisoned the embodiment of Chaos in stone.
However, she cannot help but feel in over her head when she wakes up aboard an alien space station, where strange creatures are running dangerous experiments on her and others in an effort to make living weapons.
That's just the beginning however. She soon finds herself and her people caught up in the middle of an interstellar war over one of the most basic principals of sapient life.
The right to think for yourself.
Just an idea I had, and I'm not even really sure where it's going to go. But I liked it and I thought that it would make a great story. comments would be appreciated, especially those geared towards making me a better writer.

All Twilight wanted was to give Spike a special gift for his birthday. Yes, it was a book, but it was a very special book. An Enchanted Book like that Power Ponies comic they had recently experienced.
Things went wrong when Spike startled Twilight as she was working the spell for his (secret) gift. Needless to say, startling Twilight while she's in the middle of a spell can be a bad idea - as certain frogs can tell you.
Twilight has every reason to believe that she is now trapped in a closed reality bubble fabricated out of her own magic, with no way out. She's lost in some made-up universe reflecting some random story line.
Mike, of course, has a different opinion about the matter.

Times are changing for Equestria as Twilight’s return brings with it news of people and cultures from beyond the peaceful world everypony knows. Aid and volunteers are freely offered to help the besieged humans of Earth because every Equestrian knows that’s what good friends do. Unfortunately, making friends can also have the unintended consequence of making enemies.

When the monsters besieging the humans strike at Equestria with a level of brutality not seen in over a thousand years, the cry for help is sent to all the kingdoms of the world. Honored allies step forth to fulfill ancient treaties and oaths. Enemies, old and new, bury their grievances. An alliance never before seen in Equestria will be created to combat the monsters from the void.

And because of these events, a grim but welcome sibling to the XCOM project is born.

The Mane-Raising Joke: Dee Tangler takes her role as the owner of a multi-million-bit haircare product company way too far, resulting in a tragic accident at her shampoo factory that will change her life, as well as the Power Ponies', forever.

The Shadow King: A scientist strives to help a pony he loves with his research in shadow magic. Meanwhile, Fili-Second and Zapp question their worth as heroes.

Don't Cry After Sunset: Some pony from Twilight's past re-emerges, at the same time mysterious robberies are occurring by a master thief who leaves no evidence behind.

Longhorn's Journey Into Night: At long last, Mistress Mare-velous gets a lead in finding her parents' murderer and insists on pursuing him alone, but Humdrum won't allow it.

The Pharaoh's Curse: A new mummy arrives at the Maretropolis Museum of a said to be cursed pharaoh.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go?: Parallel chapter to "The Pharaoh's Curse," in which we see what Twilight and Applejack are up to while on vacation.

When Twilight Sparkle slipped beneath the covers last night, everything had been fine. She had friends whom she loved, a teacher she adored, and a bright future ahead of her. But when she woke up, her blankets and quilts had been replaced by hospital gowns and padded restraints.

Everything is wrong and nothing makes sense; even her friends have changed. The doctors keep telling her that she is sick, that none of it was real and that it was all in her head. Yet she remembers a life far beyond the hospital walls. She couldn't have made it all up on her own. They must be lying… right?

After an incident where Fluttershy is attacked by a wild rabbit in her garden, she develops a severe phobia, which results in her running scared whenever she sees anything that looks like a rabbit, including Angel.

In order to help cure her of her fear, Twilight and the others must go into Fluttershy's mind while she's asleep and implant an idea that will result in the disappearance of her phobia.

Yes, this is a spoof of "Inception", and it is the first time I am writing a MLP fan-fiction that is in a style to how an episode would play out. It is a work in progress so don't expect rapid updates to this story, but please let me know what you think about it.

I am not sure how original this story idea is, but hopefully it will be to your liking.

And I am still writing "The Human Elements of Harmony" as well, but I've wanted to write a story like an episode for a while.

Twilight has always had the best intentions, and her life has been fairly decent. A few hiccups here and there, a falling out with Celestia, but she still has her friends. All four of them. There's a strange marking on her hoof, but with her cider habit, who knows where it came from? Her main problem was her debts, a problem that may well be on it's way to being solved, thanks to Pinkie Pie and her Twin Brother. They just have one condition, Twilight has to bring them a certain mare, from a certain city, high above the clouds...

Spike the Dragon is given a simple task to repay his debt. Journey to the floating city of Cloudsdale and rescue a young mare named Scootaloo, a mysterious pony imprisoned all her life, and bring her to Manehattan. Simple enough right? Forced to trust one another Spike and Scootaloo must fight to escape the city of Cloudsdale and uncover the city's dark secrets.

Ancient Arabian artefacts are brought to Maretropolis to be on display at the Museum, but when the majority of the artefacts are covered in or made of gold, the Power Ponies can be certain that any one of the villains within Maretropolis are going to want it all for themselves.

And when Hum Drum discovers a Genie among the artefacts, he's going to have to choose wisely the three wishes he's given, otherwise's the Genie's curse may claim yet another victim.
