As Spike opened the doors of the building, he found that the entire building was abandoned and completely in shambles. While Spike venture further into the building he soon found signs posted warning ponies not to get close to the 'Specimen', and a diagram on a wall chart marked "Power Drained by the Siphon" with pictures of the mare and time stamps on them marked "week 1, week 3, month 1, month 4, year 1, year 3". Spike soon found a large machine as he entered the bottom of the tower labeled The Sipon, the machine looked like it was drawing electricity from large tesla coils and large round drums, that looked like loudspeakers, around it. Spike then found a room with a projector in it, as he walked into the room he saw the projector was showing a film of the mare as she did various thing. One scene was labeled "Specimen Lockpick Attempt" and showed the mare trying to lockpick a safe like door, another was labeled "Specimen Panting" and showed the mare painting a picture of Mare-is, Prance.
"They have been watching her?" asked Spike as he watched the film. Spike soon found an elevator that took him up to the top of the tower, as he walked around inside of the statues head Spike found a door that led him to a observation room that was marked dressing room. As Spike entered into the observation room he found a voxophone on the floor labeled "property of Celestia" and began to play the recording.
"What makes the mare different? I suspect it has less to do with what she is, and more with what she is not. Although she has no memory of her past, her mind has created new memories to replace the ones she lost as my sister Luna had predicted. But a small part of her still remains from where she came." said the recording. The sign above the closed window that said "Specimen Present" began to light up and the shield covering the window began to open to show the orange pegasus mare Spike was for searching looking at the one way mirror fixing her purple mane.
"Well that her." said Spike looking at the mare. The mare then started to look at the photo of Mare-is in hoof and began flap her wings for joy, as she did her right wing started to hurt causing her to look at her wing with small exception of pain on her face. As she moved her wing in front of her face Spike notice that her right wing was missing a small part of it end. The mare then began to gallop into another room and the shield started to cover up the window. Spike then walked into the next observation room marked dining room as he did he saw the mare was standing in front of a painting of the eiffel tower, the mare then put both of her wings in front of her face and began to act like she was pulling something open with them. Then out of no where a portal opened with a view of a street in Mare-is with a theater advertising a film named planète des vaches (Planet of The Cows 1968).
"What in the....." said Spike looking at the strange view. Then all of a sudden a pair of red lights started flashing from further down the street, then the lights appeared to be getting closer revealing it was a fire-chariot speeding down the street. Just before the fire-chariot could hit the mare, she put both of her wings in front of her face again and closed the mysterious portal. The mare then started to gallop into another room leaving Spike to try and figure out what just happened.
"But... But.." said Spike trying to comprehend what he just saw. "I don't know what that was but it got nothing to with the job at hoof." thought Spike as he walked to the last observation room marked library. Spike saw the mare was standing at the top of a staircase looking out of a window at the clouds around her with her picture of Mare-is in hoof. Spike found a door that lead to the outside of the statue head and started to walk across the side of it head until he found a entrance back into the statues and door leading into another room. As Spike walked over to the next door he felt the floor beneath him shake and then collapse under him. Spike was able to grab onto the top railing of the staircase and tried to pull himself up when he saw the mare looking at him.
"Uh, Hello." said Spike. The mare screamed causing Spike to fall again. As Spike fell to the floor the mare began to buck and throw books at him.
"Ow. Will you stop it? Will you stop it!?" asked Spike as the mare galloped towards him with a book in her hoof getting ready to hit him again.
"Who are you?" asked the mare.
"I am Spike. I am a friend, I have come to get you out of here." said Spike as he tried to take the book from her.
"Get away." said the mare as she tried to hit him with the book, but Spike took the book from her.
"Are you real?" she asked calming down and raising her right hoof to touch the side of his face.
"I am real enough." answered Spike. As the mares hoof made contact with his face Spike was pulled out of reality into dream like state. He started to see through the eyes of his younger self as he was running through a meadow and chasing after a small filly as the filly giggled.
"Are you a real dragon?" asked the mare pulling Spike back into reality.
"Yes... Yes I am." said Spike as he shacked his head. Then a statue of the Prophet in the corner of the room came on a started to whistle a tune.
"No no no. She is coming. You have to get out of hear." said the mare in a worried tone.
"Why?" asked Spike as she pushed him back.
"You don't want to be here when she get here." answered the mare. Then a strange noise that sounded like whistling mixed with gears turning started to speak.
"I will be there in a second." said the mare as she understood what the noise was saying. The noise spoke again and started to sound angry.
"Stop it. You're too impatient." said the mare.
"I am have come to get you out of here." said Spike.
"There's no way out I have already looked." said the mare looking for a place to hide the dragon.
"What about this?" asked Spike holding a key, from the chest the alicorns gave him, in his claw.
"What about it?" asked the mare.
"It the way out, right?"
"What!? Let me see that." said the mare as she took the key from Spike's claw and galloped over to a large safe like door. She then put the key into the key slot and began to turn the key and unlocked the door. The door opened just enough for the mare to pull it open, as she did an alarm started to sound and the strange noise started speaking and sounded angrier than before. Spike then followed the mare through the door and down the stairs as he did the whole tower began to shake violently as the creature started to hit the tower.
"It's her job to keep me locked up in here." said the mare as she galloped ahead of Spike. As they ran around the catwalk of the statues head the creature started to claw at the building leaving three large holes in the wall. Spike and the mare soon reached the observation room marked dressing room, as Spike hit the button calling the elevator the mare looked into the one way mirror noticing it was a window into her room.
"They were watching me? All this time? Why did they put me in here? What am I?" asked the mare looking at Spike.
"Your the mare getting out of this tower." said Spike. Then out of nowhere a giant blue hoof with metal blades pushed through the elevator door and a large orange glass like eye appeared looking at the two and started to bash it head against the wall trying to get into the small room when the elevator came crashing down on top of the creature making it fall down the tower.
"Come on we gotta get out of here." said the mare as she jumped over to the ladder on the other side of the elevator shaft and began to climb up.
"Be careful, Scootaloo." said Spike as he started to climb the ladder too.
"How do you know my name." asked Scootaloo as she reached the top of the ladder and found a door leading to outside of the tower.
"Not now." said Spike as he reached her and opened the door to the outside letting Scootaloo go first.
"Which way?" asked Scootaloo as she galloped out the door.
"Up!" said Spike following behind her. Spike looked out over the railing of the tower and seen the strange creature flying around the tower. The creature looked like a giant blue mechanical bird with rainbow colored wings, Spike remembered seeing a poster of the creature at the fair with it name on it. calling it the Rainbow Bird. Spike then met Scootaloo at the top of the tower just as the Rainbow Bird crashed into the tower causing Spike an Scootaloo to fall off the tower. Spike quickly grabbed Scootaloo's hoof and reached for his Sky-Hook seeing a sky-line beneath them. Grabbing onto the sky-line, Spike and Scootaloo began riding at high speed across the sky-line with the Rainbow Bird right behind them crashing through airships in its way, trying to get them.
"Can this thing go any faster?" asked Scootaloo holding on to Spike's claw for dear life.
"It would if a certain pegasus with wing would let go of me and fly." said Spike with his arms stretched as far as they could with one claw holding Scootaloo and the other holding the Sky-Hook.
"I can't fly." said Scootaloo.
"Why not?" asked Spike.
"Because.... Look out!" said Scootaloo seeing the head of the angel statue falling and hitting the sky-line in front of them causing it to brake, sending both of them flying off of it and falling into what appears to be an ocean. As they fell Spike lost his grip of Scootaloo hoof causing her to fly further away from him. Spike then landed in the water and was starting to swim back up to the surface when Rainbow Bird dived into the water and grabbed him. Rainbow Bird began to push Spike further down the water, but stopped when a part of it suit ruptured and oil started spewing out causing it to release Spike, but before it returned up to the surface the Rainbow Bird reached for Spike one last time as it did its right glass eye began to crack making the bird return to the surface. Spike began to blackout as he tried to swam back to the surface, the last thing Spike felt before the darkness consumed him was something biting on his back spikes and pull him towards the surface.

BANG BANG BANG BANG was all Spike heard as he woke up on the floor of his office/room.
"Mr. Spike. Mr. Spike." said a voice at the door. As Spike began to get up, he saw Scootaloo standing against his desk.
"Bring us the mare and wipe away the debt." said Scootaloo and the voice in unison. Scootaloo began to hum a tune when the voice began to speak.
"Are you in there Spike?" asked the voice.
"What do you want with her?" asked Spike.
"We had a deal Spike. Open this door right now!" shouted the voice.
"Tell me what you want with her. Are you going to hurt her?" asked Spike. The knocking at the door continued as Spike walked up to it.
"Gem. Gem. My precious Gem." Spike said as he opened the door. Then a large light appeared around Spike causing him to wake up.

"Gem. Gem." said Spike regaining consciousness and seeing Scootaloo standing over him with concern look on her face.
"No it me. Scootaloo." Scootaloo said with a smile on her face seeing that Spike was alive.
"Where are we?" asked Spike as he tried to get up.
"Cloudsdale bay. Here let me help you." said Scootaloo as she tried to help Spike up.
"I be fine just give me a minute." said Spike pushing Scootaloo's hoof away.
"You almost drowned, just let me help you. I already dragged your scaly back up here." said Scootaloo.
"I thank you for that, but just give a minute, ok?" asked Spike.
"Ok." said Scootaloo as she sat down beside Spike on the beach. She then started to hear music coming from the other side of the beach. Spike, still laying on the beach, noticed how excited the mare was getting.
"uh Mr. Spike can I..."
"Go ahead. I will catch up with you in a minute." said Spike.
"Oh thank you Mr. Spike. I won't go far, ok?" said Scootaloo galloping in the direction of the music.
"Don't go far.. don't... go... far..." said Spike as he started to loose consciousness again.

Spike was back in the meadow chasing after the filly.
"You cant catch me Spike." said the young filly giggling.
"Just you watch me." said Spike back to the filly as he chased her.
