After Twilight returns from the Human World, Celestia is desperate to know of her former student, Sunset Shimmer, and what happened to her. Upon learning of the horrible things her former student has done, Celestia breaks down in tears as Twilight asks why she was so important to Celestia and why she never told anypony. Celestia tells the story of her and Sunset. How they were so close, and how one secret ruined everything between them.

On the night of Christmas Eve, the CMCs are having a sleepover, talking about what to post next as "Anon-a-Miss". Sweetie Belle is getting worried about Sunset, but Apple Bloom and Scootaloo ignored her worries and told her that Sunset will be fine.

But later that night, they were shocked when they were visited by the ghosts of Apple Bloom's parents, who express their disappointment in them and wanting Apple Bloom to confess to being Anon-a-Miss and make things right. When Apple Bloom refuses to do so, her parents then warned the girls that they will be visited by three ghosts later tonight. Apple Bloom brushes this off, thinking her parents were just joking, only to find that they weren't the next time they woke up.

Based on a classic Charles Dickens' story, "A Christmas Carol".

I've made and lost friends, students, and gained a great deal of respect from both ponykind and humanity. Ever since the surrender, she has spent every waking moment trying to earn both her redemption as well as Equestria's for our sins against the humans. Two and a half years ago, I left my home, family, and friends behind to fight for humanity to save them from Princess Celestia's madness. Despite the hardship, suffering, and loss I have never once waved in my conviction in doing the right thing to prevent the genocide of an entire race. However, I have been captured. Instead of killing me, they kept me prisoner because they need me to use my Element one last time in their hopes of saving Equestria from Humanity's upcoming invasion.

Too bad I have no plans to do that.
