Anonymous, asshole extraordinaire and a rotten egg by all accounts, has fallen on good times after being made a commander of the Storm King's vast armies. With the King's forces and equipment at his fingers, he's found great success conquering nations, sowing chaos, and kicking the asses of all walks of life. All while having a rip-roaring great time doing it.
But the day of the Storm King's biggest conquest to date - the nation of Equestria - looms just around the corner. All that's left now is the final few preparations for the invasion: loose ends to tie up, new weapons to seize, and even some co-commanders to annoy to no end. And once those are complete, Anon will be the first in line to take Equestria as his next conquest.
God help us all.

This isn't the first horse story I've written, but it is the first one that is prose instead of greentext. And I'm still a bit rusty on top of all that. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

Hi. My name's James. If you're reading this, then one of two things have happened. One, you're another human that got sent to this shit hole and was able to find my shelter. Ty is sick of life on Earth. In a small town where everyone else has friends, hobbies, and a place to belong, he has no clue what he should be doing. Only finding one thing he can do reliably, screw up, most people generally don't like him, earning him some rivals.

When he decided he could be a brony, he gives Friendship Is Magic a shot to help his depression. While he enjoyed it, it didn't seem to work. But when a field trip turned otherworldly transportation brings him to Equestria, the neurotic coward must find a way to survive in a world that works the opposite of how he does.

Being reincarnated in another world... It sounds like the stuff of fantasy, but when a human wakes up in the body of a pony, they realize that fantasy has become reality. Things have been turning up roses for me lately. I'm no longer fighting to survive, I have people that I can turn to, and I have my face back, all because of the kindness shown to me by strangers.

This is the third book in The Humanity Within Trilogy. If you haven't read the other two books first, go back and do that now. Don't worry, this will still be here when you get back...

Also, if you've already finished this trilogy, you should be happy to know that the next book in the series, A Darkened Sky, is out right now! Go read it, follow it, and all that stuff!

I don't know what to believe anymore. I was sure they were all monsters, all demons bent on destroying any peace I and my new friends might find in this life.

I was wrong.

Instead of burning this world down around me, their weapons are pointed away from the planet, not towards it.

As if that conundrum wasn't perplexing enough, I also have to deal with finding my own place in this odd, yet familiar society. But how does one simply go back to being normal? Especially knowing that the real monsters that caused this mess in the first place could be just around the corner?

After all, it's not like I'll ever see my home planet again. They may not be here to hurt me or my friends, but I still don't trust these 'friendly' aliens to get me a ride home...

This story is a sequel to Beyond Me

The world collapsed around me, and then it kept on turning, and I'm still this pony. But I think that's a fate I've accepted now, seeing as there's nothing I can do about it. All that's left for me to do now is see how I can change things, even if that does make certain Equestrian figures angry.
Of course, that's me assuming things are gonna go my way. They never do.
