This is the third book in The Humanity Within Trilogy. If you haven't read the other two books first, go back and do that now. Don't worry, this will still be here when you get back...

I don't know what to believe anymore. I was sure they were all monsters, all demons bent on destroying any peace I and my new friends might find in this life.

I was wrong.

Instead of burning this world down around me, their weapons are pointed away from the planet, not towards it.

As if that conundrum wasn't perplexing enough, I also have to deal with finding my own place in this odd, yet familiar society. But how does one simply go back to being normal? Especially knowing that the real monsters that caused this mess in the first place could be just around the corner?

After all, it's not like I'll ever see my home planet again. They may not be here to hurt me or my friends, but I still don't trust these 'friendly' aliens to get me a ride home...

Its reinforced walls still stand though the tomes and coveted secrets were purged after years of warfare, degradation and abandonment. Despite the armies, bands and packs who tried to finish what the Equestrians started none were able to breach the gates of the Lost Archive. None aside from the few faithful to the old ruler and Lord Hierophant have ever entered. His reign was cut short because of the same people who gave it to him and his followers, though misguided and few in number, would see fit to restoring his former glory even if it's more myth then legend.

With his betrayal in joining Tirek and being useless in Starlight Glimmer's recent time shattering attack, Discord has found his happiness saved twice by Princess Twilight. While she and her friends will be remembered for centuries as the ponies who stood up to countless challenges and saved the world itself more than once, all that will be remembered of the draconequus was his short tyrannical reign.

That is not something Discord wants, and he's desperate to find a way to gain the admiration and fame that his seven friends have achieved through their countless selfless acts of duty. So, how does a draconequus like Discord go about winning the hearts of Equestria?

By creating a fake quest with false dangers, villains, and world threatening circumstances of course! In order to be the hero of the story, he needs to create one first, and there's an entire multiverse full of resources he can use in his quest.

Now he just needs to find the right 'partner in crime' to help him start his 'quest'...
