There are many things you can think about after almost dying.

For Applejack and Rainbow Dash, it's what comes after.

Glad to see this finally up. Dash's voice throughout is incredibly well done, and the conflict between them is handled excellently. Emotional at times and cute and fluffy at others. Just overall very well done.

Very nice. :)

Good work, broski.

Rainbow Dash lives an exciting life and is swiftly becoming the most daring, awesome pegasus in all of Equestria. She would gladly give it all up, though, just to confess her love to Applejack.

This is the only story that I know of that hit the "1000 chapters max" limit

Well, public opinion seems to be against me, but *I* liked it

Did anyone else have "Me and Bobby McGee" playing in their head while reading this?

This fic was absolutely adorable! It has an honest look of what relationships look like, dialogue that flows seamlessly together, and a problem that I imagine would be pretty hard to solve. Also, you made me tear up in multiple places (they're just so... perfectly together and you got that across and aaa), and how dare you make me feel emotions, etc. I look forward to reading many more of your fics!

I get what you said about writing similar stuff. But at the end you’re right. You did a pretty good job.

Lovely story.

Welp....I've officially contracted diabeetus.

Excellent story.

Very bittersweet. Bitter with the emotions of tackling expectations, and the fear, and the sweet of the relationship and the dialogue. Very well done.

“No, it doesn’t,” I retort, frowning at her with a sideways look, “because if it happened once, it could happen again. I just finished telling you, didn’t I? It sets a precedent, or whatever Twilight would call it. And if it does happen again, which it most likely will... who’s to say we’re gonna be ready for it, or lucky enough that one or both of us survive it?”

In sports it's called "losing a step" :fluttercry:
In the Hero biz it's called "fatal" :raritycry:

This is so well done. It’s so bittersweet, I want to not like it as much as I do simply because of the bitter aspect. You made the whole story so real, everything is just perfect

Wow... Even after 5 minutes I'm still kinda speechless. (For all the right reasons, promise.)

It's hard to imagine these characters thinking about this after seeing them grow big in the show or in the stories here on fimfiction. But I honestly don't remember the last time I saw them having to think about it, retiring... about getting a little too slow, too far past their prime.

The settling down part is not the shocker, it's the fact they may not get the chance to settle if they don't do it soon. [Me saying this at the good old age of 23 years old] I like to think I'm not that close to needing to make that decision, to settle. But this still hits me hard with the thought.

Brilliant work Freglz! Your writing is excellent. You got me completely sucked in. I'm gonna have to look at your other stories.

Excellently-written overall, some great insight into the both of them. Brilliant all-around

'It's easy to be confident when you're young' - isn't that, what they say?
Rainbow always had this 'live now'-attitude. Somewhat short-sighted, not thinking things through. And AJ, while similar in many regards and stubborn as heck, was usually the more grounded one. So... seeing them come to terms with this now, years later, talking it out... it's entirely believable. I love how you portrayed them, it feels like a natural evolution of their character arcs from the show.
Makes me wonder, though. They've scraped by on close calls more than enough times within the show itself, not to mention anything head-canon-wise that might've happened after that. I wonder, what the others think of this. AJ and RD doubt if they will get the acceptance of their friends. But they struggle with the same conundrum, don't they? Twilight, as a head of state, might not be as involved in actual field work anymore and might actually have the biggest issues understanding this, but I can't imagine that Rarity, Fluttershy or Pinkie would've backed out at some point - and it's heavily implied that they still do this, too. And without wanting to be rude, but those gals are quicker on the uptake. I just... don't think they'll have anything to worry about.
I love their intimacy. You can feel the trust and warmth these two share oozing from every line. It was just... marvelous.

Thank you.

I enjoyed this story! It was a great read, thank you for sharing!

You're so welcome!! I'm sorry it took me so long to get to it. :twilightsheepish:

What a pleasant read! A very calm and heart-to-heart read from start to finish, you channeled Dash’s perspective literally perfect and showcased Apple And Dash’s relationship so naturally that they have indeed been together for a long time! Words can’t express how.. relaxing and cherishing this read was! As if we’re Dash ourselves (which was the point obviously :rainbowlaugh:) But yes..! Wow.. very good job!

“I love it when you look like that. Right there. Bruises, stitches, freckles and all.”

Ahem… FRECKLES and all?! Rude.
