A few weeks after Twilight's coronation, Rara visits Applejack to get help with her upcoming concert. The visit becomes a point of contention for Rainbow Dash, who experiences a new range of emotions during that time. Will Rainbow Dash come to terms with the fact that she feels, and may have always felt, a different kind of love for Applejack?
The truth to that question will set Rainbow Dash free. But first, she must admit it to herself.

This is probably the one of the best Appledash fanfics I've ever read on this site. Great control of the characters, the three-way relationships, the plot pacing, extra sweet and romantic fluff (I swooned over this so many times I swear) while the challenges and their resolutions are realistic, most of all making sure that there were actual signs of Applejack's reciprocation and it didn't feel like pity in the end (which is something lacking in too many fanfics here, seriously). I loved every bit of this story and I hope to write like this someday. Three cheers for Appledash!

Rara’s character was a little all over the place in the last three chapters. Sometimes, it seems like she just wants to encourage AJ and RD’s relationship and is really supportive and, at other times, it seems like she deliberately wants to provoke Rainbow. I’d get it if this was just Rainbow Dash’s perception of Rara, but it’s not. It’s a little confusing.
The anticipation is killing me!

Hi friend! This is (mainly) written in limited omniscient pov, so Rainbow’s perception of Rara is dramatically shifting throughout the story. It’s why Rara herself seems different 😭 My apologies if it’s confusing, and thank you for the feedback! It’s great to know if/when I want to write again :)

i don’t normally like to leave comments, but with this story i had to say something. i’m not exaggerating when i say that i’ve read this fic, all the way through, from the first word to the very last, at least 5 or 6 times already. since the very first time i read it, i was just so in love with the way you set up the chapters, your writing style, and oh my GOSH. what i absolutely love about this fic is that you add in all these little minuscule, insignificant details from the series and translate them into something that feels realistic (for ex, when rainbow wasn’t able to be seen in the audience at that last performance in the mane attraction, for whatever reason - you translated that into something relating to how rainbow felt towards rara, which i just thought was so cool?? and the “what an athlete!” repetition, a reference that i didn’t even realize until i watched ‘applebuck season’ again the other day,,, not to mention all the little appledash hints throughout the series that you pointed out).
also - the tallulah thing. gosh, that chapter just melts me down every time (in a very, very good way). it’s so cute and sweet.
recently i’ve been going on an appledash fic reading spree, if you will, and this is still one of the best ones i’ve read so far. i’m in love with the whole thing. apologies for raving on and on about it, i just couldn’t help myself :’) thank you so much for writing it!! sending warm wishes your way
