As I reread the Tumblr version of the comic today, and some of the SFW fanfics that surround ΞV, I wanted oh so much to give Jet the benefit of the doubt, that perhaps Delta's anger or pain was making her misremember the events from 13-18 years ago, that perhaps it was a mutual mistake, Jet only intended to have one more drink and one became two and two became four and so many drinks led to the bedroom door. I mean they were both young, inexperienced, but the more I think about it, it does seem more and more likely that even if he didn't actually have malicious intent, he simply couldn't or wouldn't take NO for an answer. I want to believe that after Apogee was born he dived snoot-first into his work with the intention of providing, but in his efforts got caught up in the whirlwind rush that is modern business "the get it done yesterday environment" as I like to call it and let family slip onto the back burner.
In this fic, he comes across as one of the Canterlot Snobs I so love to hate, the Spoiled Rich's and Jet Sets of the pony world who strut around with their snoots so high in the air it's a wonder they don't asphyxiate. He intentionally stole her chance at a future because he wasn't ready to give up Delta, not out of love, not to protect her from some feared danger, but because she was at best the prettiest piece of tail he had ever wooed or worse he saw her as a meal-ticket to improve his standing in the business world, and now that Apogee is all grown up he was ready to do it all over again, if only metaphorically and not literally like all of the NSFW fics seem to suggest. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind sex or porn or fetishes in fanfics, I'm far from anything remotely resembling a prude, but Incest, parent on child, and other similar things is just a shade too much for me. Frankly, I don't even care for the arts showing Shining Armor and Twilight getting it on, makes me decidedly uncomfortable. two adults regardless of gender, fine, innocent foals exploring themselves or a silly misunderstanding fine, perhaps it's the cheesy romantic in me π€·.
Anywho, I don't often get this worked up in a fanfic, but dayum if Jet wasn't a grade-A jerk, and even if Apogee forgives him (maybe in a sequel?) he will have to spend the rest of his life making up for it and proving that he had changed because trust once broken is incredibly difficult to mend.
I am definitely going to put this one in my fimfiction library, 10/10. Even if you don't write a sequel to this, tell Shino to tell Apogee that I wish her well in her quest to the stars π©βπππβπ(throws a textbook honorary ten-hut and salute to the young Astro-mare).

I've been thiking about a fic based in the same world of Space Ponyos which would involves ponies from Equestrian Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and a launch site near Las Pegasus. However I am not really sure if Cape Caneighveral would be located in the same state as LP or on the other side of the continent like the original Cape Canaveral. Since it wasn't in the comic if I recall correctly, what's the location like in your story? If it's the latter case and in pony-version of Florida, I would probably need a Vandenberg AFB equivalent?
