And this is pony related... how?

Thanks for reading! This fic was inspired by brony artist Shinodage's OCs. The original tumblr can be found here if you want to know more about them.

It's fanfiction based on fandom projects.

Nothing about this is pony though. Adding pony names doesn't make it pony.
Also I have less than zero interest in shino's incest pederasty fantasies sorry

The actual blog is a slice of life drama about topics like divorce and advancing technologies. It has zero incest, underage content, and forms of glorified sexual abuse. I say this as someone who likes the art and story and has written my own pieces inspired by the space ponies and abhors the gross porn of them. They're really good if you like OC-focused drama to pass the time.

If you're still bugged by explicit content of any kind, the main blog has none. It's PG-13, if I had to apply a rating to it. Most of the time it's for relationship fallout, drinking, and language.

Do the characters in this story have hands or hooves? I noticed two references to fingers & three references to hooves whilst reading:

A trail of condensation clung to her fingertips.

Jet ran his fingers through his hair.

In her hooves was an empty plastic bottle of orange juice.

Delta Vee waved her hoof in the air.

Jet Stream took Apogee’s hoof and together they walked towards the door.

I also have a question regarding Delta Vee & Jet Stream's shared custody: when does Delta Vee pick up Apogee? The description mentions Wednesday, but Jet Stream talks about returning Apogee on Monday before Apogee says she'll see her mother again on Tuesday.

Wednesday is when she has to pick up her daughter, Apogee, for her court-ordered family time.

“Have a good night, Delta Vee. I’ll have her back on Monday.”

“See you Tuesday, mom.”

10310885 Thank you for reading, and doubly thank you for pointing out those mistakes  To clarify, Delta Vee gets Apogee on Wednesday and keeps her through Friday. The one instance of Tuesday popping up was just an error on my part, now fixed.

Nice read. Though you haven't fixed those hooves/fingers mistakes -- they were a bit confusing. :raritywink:

Fixed. Thank you for pointing that out!

A nice addon to read after finding that comic and wanted to have more...
BTW would you mind if me translate this story into Chinese and post on the local Fimfiction equivalent called Fimtale? Credits and link given for sure, and in addition I am currently in RMIT's bachelor of Aerospace Engineering so I guess that can be some kind of guarantee for the translation quality! XP

Thank you for the kind words! I'm flattrred you want to translate my fic. Go right ahead! And send it my way when you've posted it so I can give it a boost on my blog 😁

Okey, I will get on it then! And just to make sure... is the subtitle "Real Sand on a Fake Beach" an oblique reference to Delta being talent at rocket engineering but ended up waste herself at the junkyard, or just describeing the beach? Since literal translation doesn't quite make sense in the former case.

The title is a situational take on the "old wine in new bottles" saying. Delta has so much love for her daughter, yet she hates what her daughter loves--a stable nuclear family. That cognitive dissonance is embodied in the setting. Real sand, fake beach.

Hmm... ok, but isn't "old wine in new bottles" means something old to be packed and offered as new? I don't really see it has a connection to "dissonance"... well got to go bed now, I will look into in again later

10369436 Yeah, it's not an exact one to one comparison. That's just the closest saying I can think of to compare it to :twilightsheepish:

The Chinese version is up: https://fimtale.com/t/16323
It's my second posted story (the first was an original one from myself) on Fimtale so I shouldn't need to be checked and approved by admins, but then I am not sure why the view count is still just 1...

PS: Guess it was just got posted at late night so didn't got much views, the count is rising now.
And I translated "Real Sand on a Fake Beach" to approximately "Fake Neglection on a Ture Heart"... sounds kinda weird in English but in Chinese it makes more sense.

I found this looking to see if anyone had referenced one of my favorite bands (King Crimson) on Fimfiction.

I was not disappointed.:yay:

This was a very nice short read (despite a few errors), and it's making me somewhat interested in the original comics that it was inspired by. I like Delta Vee a lot already.

And, while it took a second to think about it, "Matte Kudasi" is a perfect song to use for this story. Though I still prefer "Thela Hun Ginjeet" in regards to songs from Discipline.

You just can't beat it.
