Expecting any Scootaloo to deal with deep emotional issues is a risky venture, but less so when it’s another Scootaloo. Though assuming analogues are completely identical is even riskier. Thank goodness for Rumble, loyal friend that he is.

I love how Rumble's role in this story is mostly that he's just there. There's not even a direct explanation for it other than he's Scoots (take your pick which) friend and was roped into assisting with this too. He has a very "third wheel" feel all throughout the story and yet he's not only chill with it (or so he conveys to me, the reader), he's the one that actually made the headway the actual two main characters couldn't.

More seriously though, I also like the character study on the two Scootaloo's, and how much the story manages to convey, without actually saying it directly. In fact, there's alot that goes unsaid in this fic, but you can totally pick up on once you read in-between the lines, and you don't have to read for very long to do it. Not many fics can do that successfully like that.

Another few inches of snow had fallen since this morning, with another few inches still on the way. If it kept up through the end of the weekend, school would call a virtual day for sure.

Grrrr. Covid really has ruined everything!

Honestly, I think "virtual days" were coming regardless whether or not COVID happened. Learning online is already a thing for those who wish to do schooling but can't, for whatever reason, be there in person, so it does make sense for school districts to at least have the option of virtual school days in the event of emergencies such as snow days, so schooling can still happen as planned.

It's either that or add another day to the overall school year to make up for it, delaying the first day of the summer break all the longer, so...which would you rather have in the end?

Very interesting that Rumble's just there, with just the two of them.

I thought we'd end up seeing Wings return to Equestria, but at this point, she seems good! Things seem to imply a sensible conclusion, although I'd want more Rumble x Scoots relationship info.
