I don’t think that’s the takeaway tbh
So if all these memories are being remembered when Lucna's asleep, then either they're in a long-ass coma... or they're dead.
I have got to say, even though it has turned away from the main line of the story, I am Love Love Loving the LORE injection.

Well, they did have a pretty big crash at the end of that last non-memory chapter. Most likely they're just waking up to have access to a new batch restored without having to actually fully re-live the events.
I'm wondering, how many more chapters can we expect from this memory sequence? I'm eager to return to seeing present day Luna and Celestia but there seems to be a lot of fluff prolonging this novel of a dream sequence.
And how many months will it have been since Luna went into that coma when this whole sequence started?

I really hope this won't have just been a 15 min nap that Luna won't even remember the full experience of when she wakes up. Because if these are all just memories that have been unlocked and not memories that she's relived, then this ultra long memory segment would be wasted.
This side story is just so long and has taken over the story so completely that if this has no narrative significance outside of worldbuilding, then we would'be been better off if this was published as a sister story instead.
It's nice and all getting to see the lore of this world and all, but this memory segment is so dang long that I have to actively remind myself what this story is actually about because otherwise when I see it in my tracking folder i think "Oh it's the medieval Luna story." and not "Oh it's the human–turned–pony luna AU story"
Don't get me wrong either. This writing is good and I enjoy learning about Luna before alicorn status. But how many more chapters are we going to have to sit through before we get back to the story that I care about? How many more chapters of hunting? How many dealing with yet another pillar who will inevitably show up given the trend we're following? How many dealing with a random mare who shows up that Luna will get another crush on? And then once Luna finally becomes an alicorn, how many chapters will we spend dwelling on that before we fimally get back to the present?
I just want to see Luna (or Lucna if she's even still calling herself that)

i actualy dont think it will have been too long. I mean lucaus has fallen into luna memorys when either looking for them or due to relovence to the situation like when he got the info on some magic and nightmare stuff when captured. So its possible that through boxing stuff he became unable to relive the memorys so it created a backlog that burst open.
There is also the possiblity that lucas is experiencing "his" life flashing before his eyes and only a short ammount of time has passed and when he wakes he will have reaquired the memorys on how to deal with his wounds and how to hide propoerly

But I'm soooooooo not hoping that's the case. It probably will be and I'll probably be very upset and disappointed. But with a side story this long, the main story shouldn't go on as normal once it resumes. We've invested (almost) twice as much time on this memory segment as we have for the actual plot.
Just about 41 chapters of the main plot while this section has gotten 76 chapters and it's not even close to going back to the main story.
Why bother showing the reader all of this if Luna is just gonna wake up from a 15 min nap and go "Gee golly my boxing sure did unleash all my memories I'm glad I didn't have to relive them all, gosh that would be unpleasant. Oh well, i'm gonna continue to avoid my sister the same way I have for the rest of the story and act as if nothing happened"
I'm just so so so hoping that we'll get a proper denouement/wind down/debriefing from all of this once we return to the main story instead of what I'm fearing will happen.

im not saying lucas would go about buisnes as usual after waking up from however long they were asleep. He would have just gotten alot of context and info on everything so once lucas wakes up im guessing we might get a chapter where he reorintates himself on what he is doing and what his goal is along with evaluating what he just saw. after that perhaps a chapter where he confrunts celestia with everything finaly then makes the final choice on what we wants to do
While I love all the backstory stuff for Luna, I’m wondering when we’ll get another chapter of her in the present on Earth

Unless that armor can stop bullets, create shields, or heal me from death I’ll take whatever the darker more modern armpit from the smaller contingent Tia brought.

Yeah, but I'm saying we've spent so much actual time reading these chapters that it's going to feel really disproportionate if Luna wakes up and it's only been a minute or so. This isn't an exact count, but there's roughly 134,500 words devoted to this one memory group. It is spanning Luna's whole life as a mortal from childhood to adolescence to her burgeoning adulthood. If you can read at a pace of 10,000 words per hour, you'd be spending about 13 and a half hours of doing nothing but reading this one memory segment. And it seems we're not even close to done considering we've passed by so many natural stopping points for this segment, that I don't believe we'll stop when Luna eventually defeats king whatshisname at bloodstone or whatever it's called.
So it'll be total whiplash if we go from this ultra long side-story to Luna waking up 15 minutes to an hour later and going "Oof ouch I bumped my head real hard owie." This should be nothing less than a coma.
I also hope the pillars of old Equestria will matter outside of this sequence, because otherwise it'll have been a waste to spend time on them. Maybe when Luna wakes up, she'll meet the old pillars and go "Fine, I'll go back to Equestria, but I'm hanging with these guys now until I stop feeling hurt about being betrayed by the one pony I trusted more than anything."

Same tbh. Who knew swapping genders would be such a big deal?

11848024
Who said anything about turning away from the main story line?
But seriously though, thank you for that glowing compliment.

As of writing, which includes the chapter I'm about to release... There are 8 chapters remaining in this sequence.
11848156
I will confirm, that Luna will remember everything you're reading.
11848172
Just for clarification... What exactly would be disappointing?
11848283
Eh... If you consider being stuck in a dead end job with a apathic family quiet then sure...
11848295
Who knows?
11848306
Doesn't help when they're looking specifically for the strange and unusual.
11848337
I honestly doubt it... They weren't even good at their xenophobia.
11848354
I will say there's a point to everything.
Although admittingly not even those caught up know why yet.
11848366
It's a fine line between supreme martial power, authoritative reasoning, and complete utter incompetence.
11848377
Oh if you thought that was good you're in for a treat.
11848483
Oh? Whomst would that be? Out of curiosity.
11848493
Gold is very easy to enchant, which is why it's used.

I was thinking about mixture of Power armor from FOE and mage armor from Schooled in Magic by Christopher Nuttal. The former was selfrepairing and healing weapon platform, the latter was ward suite preventing a mundane being obliterated by mages. Being a mage in his universe was an equivalent of being a Nuclear Power in our.
