During a visit to Manehattan with her friends, Twilight runs into a strange new pony, literally. While he seems normal enough at first, his attempts at recompense turn into a strange series of discoveries. A musical talent unlike any that she has seen. Old magic, older than Celestia herself. And a past that follows in this new stallion's shadow, waiting for his guard to drop.
Marty, an eccentric musician stricken with blindness from a young age, is not all he appears to be. He might not be able to see, but the things he knows go far beyond what any pony should. And he should never have come back out of hiding. From the very moment he meets Twilight Sparkle both their lives are put in great peril. Something else walks just outside their perception, acting to pull Marty back into their clutches and take the Elements of Harmony out of the equation once and for all. The Elements' only defense may be trusting the blind-pony, who even from the beginning could have secret motives as well. But in the end, the price for freedom will be extreme.
This will be written to the side of another story I am already far into, so it won't be updated often ... unless I decide to take a longer break from that one. It will also act as a place for me to practice different types of writing. Like writing songs into a story, and strange forms of dialog. So later chapters will probably be much better than earlier ones. I will also, more than likely, add tags as I write this. And I think I've just plain given up on remaining canon, it's not awesome enough for me and to do that I would have to drop the weight I want the story to carry for Twilight ... Also, decided that (almost) all chapters shall be named after song titles now!
