Button Mash and Sweetie Belle first become friends in school. Their relationship grows as they hang out and get to know each other more as they get older. Their friendship blossoms into love and their love blossoms into true love. Their lives take a turn and many things happen as the future rapidly approaches them.

Flim and Flam have done it again. They've opposed Applejack. This time, they've built themselves a bed and breakfast smack bang in the middle of her farm. Applejack doesn't approve of this and goes to see them... only to discover that they are hiding a dark secret involving a pony she's seen before.

Sweetie Belle is ill when Rarity leaves her home for a week to check her shop in Appleloosa. The third day there, Twilight sends her an urgent letter, telling her Sweetie Belle had passed out while at Sugarcube Corner. Rarity races back to Ponyville to find that Sweetie has a serious condition, one the two sisters will have to work through together.

Spike wants to get Twilight something really special, but he hasn't gotten a single clue what to give. To add to the pressure, somepony thinks that Spike shouldn't put any effort in the gift search at all.

What will Spike do?

After seeing how exhausted her niece and nephew in law are, Celestia urges them to take a short vacation, and leave baby Flurry Heart in her capable hooves.

Discord has been sick for a long time. It's getting worse by the day. Equestrian medicine can't help him. He can't heal himself.

There is one hope: The fruit of a tree from his birthplace, the Garden of Elysium. Fluttershy takes it upon herself to make the journey with him, dangerous though it may be. On top of that, two young stowaways have joined the party. Pumpkin Cake is prepared to do anything to help Discord, and Pound Cake is frantically scrambling to keep his twin sister safe.

Monstrosities await them as they find that not everybody in Equestria wants to see the Spirit of Chaos well. Fairies, immortals, and ponies converge on Elysium, each with their own plans.

In the end, it will take courage to find the cure. But holding it together becomes more difficult as Discord continues to fall apart.
