If comedy is a genre, meant to evoke laughter and giddiness, then precocity could easily be a genre, meant to evoke empathetic feelings of maternity/paternity, joy and pride.
Entertainment is the use of medium to evoke a response, at its basest level, after all. "D'aawwwwww" and warm fuzzy feelings are responses.
