This story is a sequel to Our Chaotic Melancholy

Eve, a baby draconequus shunned by equestrian society, continues her ventures in the hopes of finding a path to the life she craves. A life of peace, love, and acceptance.

But the further she goes, the more she begins to question whether her dreams were ever possible. And the further her cherished world becomes, the more she begins to question her destined role as a draconequus, and a monster.

Hundreds of years before the legendary Starswirl opened his eyes, a moment of change shook Equestria without even being noticed. Such is the way of the Changeling hive.

A new brood has hatched, unlike any other the hive has seen in generations: Changeling princesses, destined to lead the hive in a new direction that their mother could not. But the path is not easy for any one of them. Pony settlements dot every corner of Equestria, spreading thin the hive's hunters across the vast hunting ground.

Faced with the possibility of a divergence, a splitting of the home hive across Equestria, the princesses are thrust into the savagery of the world around them; their hive, their world, even their prey, show no mercy. To keep their kind alive, the princesses have no choice but to unleash their wrath upon those who would challenge them, lest they lose their hold on their family.

I was living a comfortable life. Had a loving wife and son, money was absolutely no issue, everything was swell.

Next thing I know, I'm hearing voices, I can't move, I can't talk, I can't even breathe. Yet, I know I'm alive, though I don't entirely feel like myself anymore.

Then I end up being the last of survivor of my new race.

I'm not even human anymore...

Originally posted as a bonus/optional chapter of a story that I'm going to reboot/rewrite in the future, I've deiced to include this as it's own story in order to preserve it. No prior reading is required for this story.

Few would imagine us changelings as the religious type, especially since most of us are drones with no free will of our own. However, because we can not think outside of the hive mind of our mother Chrysalis, one could say that we are part of one of the most devoted religions on the planet. Today, young hatching, you will learn about the foundation of our faith Today you will learn how our goddess Volucris shed her mortal form, gave birth to our race, and why are bodies are filled with hollow holes. Today, we learn why we loath all of pony kind, and how their cruelty led to our glorious creation. License well brothers and sisters, for mother will know if your not paying attention. With that said, let us begin.

Throughout her entire life, Lysithea von Ordelia had always been pushing herself to do as much as she could. She didn’t have the time to lay around, after all, with the shortened lifespan her two crests gave her. This shortened life caused her to forsake many things in the name of pushing herself to greater hights, including her childhood.

However, when she finally passed away, she suddenly found herself given a second chance to enjoy life. Born as the twin sister to Twilight Sparkle, Lysithea plans to use her lease on life to the fullest. In doing so, she might just be able to find out what it is to enjoy life, and maybe show young Twilight there is more to life than books in the process.

After losing her hive, Queen Chrysalis is forced to start another one. Luckily she has the help of a few loyal subjects who never accepted their fellow changelings new way of life. They must stay hidden from enemies, collect enough food to survive and rebuild their strength. Now the first brood has hatched and there is something very different about one of the larva.

When well-respected naturalist Mane Allgood returns to Ponyville, all she wanted to do was leave her work behind, relax and enjoy some quality time with her foals before starting her new job at Twilight's Academy. Her plans are dashed however, when she hears of a new species of ape found brutalized by poachers. Infuriated by the news, Allgood finds a new purpose in helping this creature get back onto her feet, all the while writing a new paper of course.

This new creature, however, might provide Allgood with something even more substantial than just a new animal to write about and care for.
