My name is Steve Anello, son of Tony Anello. My old man runs the streets of Chicago with an iron fist. He's the big shot around these parts. However that's all about to change. Today is May 1, which means I'm turning 25. I don't know it yet, but my life as well as my body is going to be forever altered. It's going to be tough in the beginning but once I learn to control these "power's", I'm taking over Dad's operation. That is, if the rest of his boys will listen to a talking magical horse with a blood-red horn.

Twilight has gone home to her library a few days after her coronation, determined to learn the powerful spells Celestia gave her. But when something goes horribly wrong, she and Spike are thrown into an alternate universe.

After getting blasted by a wave of happiness, Sombra wakes up months later with a completely different personality and is forced to live with the memories of what he did and what he was. However, with a little patience, and a lot of help, maybe he can change that, and become something a bit better.

More than a decade later, reports of a violent murder by a pony bearing her name are brought to Celestia and Luna's attention. A trail of carnage leading directly towards Canterlot's doorstep, brought by a pony who strikes without mercy. As Twilight approaches, in service to an unknown master, the Alicorn Sisters desperately try to uncover what happened all those years ago.

A terrible new day rises when a tragedy, foreseen only by Celestia but preventable by none, occurs right in the middle of Canterlot, turning Twilight Sparkle's world upside-down.
